Slightly sad, but beautiful
|
SG Wannabe is known for their excellent vocals and that was proven more clearly in this 4th Album CD "The Sentimental Chord" Most of the songs are ballads, soft, slow and easy-listened music. Some are very romantic, some are slightly sad, some are somehow happy but sadness hidden. (I do not speak much Korean so I don't really understand every single word they sing but I can feel it in the melodies and that's what makes me love them and their music). My favorite tracks are 1. Arirang, 2. Eun, 3. Han yuh reum nan ri ghoom (duet with Ok Joo Hyun), 6. Ka shi na mu se, and 14. Sarangha jarka. Track 1 starts with a pretty cheerful melody along with the traditional instruments (drums and the "Asian violin" ;P, sorry I don't know how to call it in English). This song really makes me feel high and cheerful, something very Asian, very traditional and so nice and full of energy with the SG voices. It's a great combination between the instruments and the beautiful voices (which also includes the background vocal of a traditional Korean folk-song voice). The 2nd song is rather romantic though, I think, it's a heart-broken song (since it starts with "Love is pain, pain is love"), but it does not really matter since when they sing, they're really into it, sometimes their voices are really high which is hard for man's tone. Track 3 is simply wonderful. i really love the idea that SG Wannabe duet with Ok Joo Hyun, her voice is powerful and pure that makes the song more attractive and influential to the listeners. Perfect! The 6th one is sad... Everytime I listen to the song, I feel like crying... which means SG Wannabe is successful singing this song. I love all the songs though and I highly recommend this CD. Of course I think all SG wannabe's CDs are good and must-have but this one so far is my most favorite. Whenever you are in an emotional mood, this music is a great choice. Sweet and soft... |

Great album!
| Overall, it's a terrific album and worth buying. Lots of good songs. As usual, their vocals are wonderful. This is one of the few musical groups that never cease to amaze me with their choice of songs and vocal ability. I've definitely become a loyal fan. |

Striking a sentimental chord..
| they did although not by the first two or three times. I was completely turned off by Track 1 and initially didn't pay much attention to the rest of the tracks because most of them are pretty mellow, I have to turn up the volumn many times to listen to their voices. It was their wonderful vocals that pulled me back to this CD. I'm glad I did. Their voices have become more mellow (Track 8), more mature and masculine (Track 13) and smoother (Track 14). They deserve their fame because of their hardworks and their willingness to experiment with different instruments and styles of singing. But many times I find myself captivated by their fantastic voices and singing talents. My favorites are Tracks 6, 8, 13 & 14. The last track is the title song which is sentimental and almost atmospheric. Don't miss this great CD! |

Oh, this is really a surprise?? They have change their style of music which is very unique with a touch of traditional korean folk song. When i first listen to it, i thought it was so...so.. but after awhile its getting interesting. Especially track 1 & 2 i like the tempo. In fact most of the songs are good. Well they did it again! Excellent go get it. |

Best of SG Wannabe
| This is definitely one the best albums I've heard, if not THE best. I have to say, I was disappointed with the third album (as were most devoted SG Wannabe fans) but it was understandable why they went through such a complete makeover for the third album.. groups such as Gavy NJ, Monday Kiz, M to M, BGH4, Kim Jong Kook, Shin Hye Sung & Lyn, etc. etc. were all copying their style (please don't get me wrong-some of these artists are some of my favorites)But with this fourth album, their new style has developed more fully... the second album was my favorite album, but this one definitely beats it! As the other reviewers said, they incorporate traditional korean music with new sounds.. and it sounds AMAZING! This album also includes songs by famous composer Cho Young Soo who has worked with SG Wannabe & other artists (See Ya, etc...btw, the all star album, which I believe is composed almost entirely by him, is also a must!). As always, Kim Jinho doesn't disappoint with his voice...of course, the other two sound great as well. GO BUY IT NOW! THE ALBUM PICTURES ARE AMAZING! THE SONGS ARE AMAZING! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! |

SG does it again

By the 4th album, most artist start to decline in quality and song selection, but SG Wannabe just gets better. I thought the 3rd album had to be their climax, but they did a equal or greater job with their Sentimental Chord. In their main hit Airirang, they used traditional korean instruments to give a classic korean sense, and it sounds kinda like My Partner because it was directed by the same person. Their style seemed to have lightened up and most of their songs are not as depressing as before. Most get for ballad of SG Wannabe fans. |

| Excellent. They've done it again. This time they have incorporated traditional korean music which appeals to all people across different ages. Even if you're not a fan of traditional music, SG songs will definitely grow on you. In addition, some of their new songs have a slight rock feel which is great. They never fail to surpirse us. They're unique and that's what i call true talent. Anything of SG is a must buy! |
