Don't miss it! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Very funny, good story, cool effects... Never seen a Stephan Chow movie before but I loved this. I didn't know what to expect and didn't expect much from it, but soon after starting I realized I was wrong. Great movie for everyone

only positive Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie is based on age old legends of super human powers being attained by Shoalin monks. This takes it a step further by saying that those that have attained power to be struggling in the real world. Then it uses soccer to utilize their talents to become famous. The plot is great, one of revenge, but in a politically acceptable manner. The scenes are extremely funny. My favorite one was the bar scene where Stephen Chow and the other guy were singing dressed as monks.

A truly excellent movie Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
To be honest, I like Stephen Chow's movies, but I'm not exactly a "major" fan. His movies are funny, but I've always thought that they are kind of crazy, and there's not much substance to his movies other than the comedy. But this movie completely turned my perspectives around. Besides keeping the tradition of having the hilarious scenes in this movie, Shaolin soccer also possesses elements of romance, suspence, action, and best of all, an excellent plot. There are so many touching points to this story, ranging from Vicki's unconditional love to Stephen, the brotherly love between the players of "Shaolin soccer" team, Richard Ng's lesson about changing himself around and not being selfish....etc. This is basically a warm, heartfelt story about giving all you've got, and trying your best not to give up to make your dreams come true. But also there are so many sub-plots to this movie that makes it memorable. I was truly touched by this movie, and all the messages that Stephen Chow is trying to portray through the simple storyline of Shaolin soccer. Not to mention that Shaolin soccer also fulfills the role of being an entertaining movie with all the action, comedy, and amazingly impressive computer-generated animation. No matter if you're looking for a serious, heartfelt movie, or if you're just looking for a basic entertaining movie for a good time, Shaolin soccer is a truly good movie not to be missed.

Stephen Chao is the best! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
As he gains more creative control over his movies he has evolved from light hearted slap slick humor to the more serious and dark humor. If you loved King of Comedy you gotta see this!

a great kick in the . . . Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The movie was great and I'd give it a ten. There were genuine moments. of course some of the translations could have been better, including leaving out some of the bad language. I don't think there was any real cussing but the English translation was off here and there so what can you do. The special effects were just right (a mix between matrix and Stephen chow's usual craziness) should have asked for an opening at least with some of the film festivals.
