Nemurenai yoru (Japan Version)
March 3, 2002 AMAZING simply amazingFirst song I ever randomly downloaded by Bonnie Pink was "That's Just What You Are" and I found it absolutely fantastic. Now that I am a HUGE Bonnie fan I'm now finding out that the song that introduced me to her was coupled with one of my other favorites. Nemurenai Yoru is beautiful, and it's a great song to sleep to. Her vocals in it are, as always, outstanding. Bonnie Pink is the best artist to come out of Japan, I won't even lie, and these two songs will prove it to you. Did you find this review helpful? Hi no ataru Sakamichi (Japan Version)
March 3, 2002 Not their bestTruthfully, Do As Infinity could release a single consisting of Ryo Owatari blowing into the opening of a jug and Van-chan clucking like a chicken and I would still consider it top notch music. However, I must say that it's no wonder this song will be on Do The Best: because it sounds like a combination of all (maybe not all, but most) Do As Infinity songs. The chorus sounds very similar to Tadaima; one part of the song sounds like an excerpt of Wings 510; and that guitar solo? Isn't that from Raven? This single isn't totally new and groundbreaking, and we're heard it all before. I do like it though, and I think it's partly because I'm a huge DAI fan. So pick up the single if you love them, not if you're looking for something new. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
I will (Japan Version)
February 14, 2002 Her Best in a WhileI was amazed when I first heard the newest single "I Will" by Namie, so amazed that I was in fact blown away. The lyrics, the music, her voice...all spectacular. It's a very heartwarming song, and it's her best ballad since "Can You Celebrate". Go girl! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

Tommy February 6 (Normal Edition) (Japan Version)
(3)Our Price: US$34.25Usually ships within 7 daysFebruary 6, 2002 Ladies and Gentlemen, a Goddess is in Our MidstIf you love the Brilliant Green but found it redundant or not "girly" enough, take a gander at what the lead vocalist/lyricist Tomoko Kawase is up to. Under the kawaii moniker Tommy February6, she has released her first solo stint as of today. Her self titled debut is a treasure chest of danceable gems, well written diamonds and rubies of originality. "Everyday at the Bus Stop" is the single best song to come out of the 1980's since the 1980's; "Kiss One More Time" is reminiscient of dance club hits from Europe in the early 1990's. Bloomin' is cute and fun, as well as "Candy Pop in Love" and "can't take my eyes off of you", which are other sparkling pieces of glitter given to us from Tommy-sama. This collection of creative and catchy material can make a believer out of the sternest of J-music critics (just ask one of my friends who is now a devout TF6 devotee). Like the music of BuriGuri, it is partly in English, partly in Japanese, but all the tracks are entirely bursting with an energy and girliness that wasn't always present in the Brilliant Green. Seldom do solo artists manage to impress us as they do when they are with their respective groups, but this album is right up there with Amuro's "Sweet 19 Blues" and funky enough to be compared to Jackson's "Off the Wall" (the music could be from the same era, you know...). Nevertheless, keep up the good work, Tomoko, and happy birthday as well. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

lovin'it (Japan Version)
December 27, 2001 Not That GreatI think Amuro sounds really good in this, and m-flo's talented and all, but I don't see why these two artists were chosen to collaborate. It's just pointless. The song isn't bad, but it's not spectacular either. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Stop! In The Name Of Love (Japan Version)
December 26, 2001 Interest...ing...I haven't heard many J-POP artists or bands cover many English songs, particularly classic Soul songs, but hearing a dance mix of "Stop! In the Name of Love" by the Supremes, ill-equipped with Marc's rap and all, I was merely impressed by the effort. Why this of all songs? This isn't something to introduce to people that have never heard JPOP or Globe before. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

November 30, 2001 Pretty Good, but not as good as i hopedI was anticipating seeing these videos for so long, but I was slightly disappointed. It's not bad, but I know I could have directed a cooler video for Week! But that's just my humble opinion. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

November 30, 2001 Nine Fly VideosThis is cool because you can see how their videos progressed. The first video for Tangerine Dream is hella boring, but that last video for Desire is rather engrossing. Long live DAI! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

November 11, 2001 Very CuteI don't know much Japanese, but I still understood what was going on in the movie, and that's all that matters, ne? Tatsuya Yamaguchi is absolutely gorgeous...well, at least in this movie. Namie does a pretty good job. This movie's hilarious. And it's cheap, minna-san! You have no excuse not to buy it. June 28, 2001 Not badThis collection of her videos is alright, but the 181920 films one was better. Her videos were just a lot more fun then. Most of these are pretty boring. It's a damn good thing she's nice to look at. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
