Judy and Mary are always consistently excellent, but Warp exceeds everything else they've ever done. From the powerhouse "Brand New Wave Upper Ground" to the introspectively beautiful "Peace", this album couldn't possibly be better. How many other bands do you know that can make a guitar solo in every song always original? That's what the brillance lies in this album; none of the songs sound the same in the least. Every song has something different to present, and present well. The band members are as fabulous as ever in their performance. Yuki's singing is powerful and captivating, Takuya's guitar work is unbelievably well done, Yoshihito's bass is is the perfect compliment to all the songs, and Kohta's drumming is also complementary but is a good listen by itself as well. Warp doesn't seem to get the recognition that it deserves (neither does Judy and Mary, in my opinion), but it is a phenomenal album. We never may hear anything this good again, so I suggest you get Warp as soon as you can. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
