Like hye sung (Korean for "a comet") blazing across the night sky, Shin Hye Sung’s third solo album Live and Let Live expects to deliver a hit of celestial proportions. Shin's latest effort is being released in two separate albums, labeled Side 1 and Side 2. In the first installment Side 1– Live and Let Live, Shin steps out of his comfort zone to deliver an eclectic mix of sounds which include alternative, British rock, swing, and big band. But fans still craving for his signature ballads won't be disappointed - the second installment Side 2 – Live and Let Live contains all ballads.

The lead-off single Geu dae la seo (Track 3) features pounding British pop/rock tunes composed by VINK (formerly of the legendary rock band NEXT, who previously worked with Shinhwa on their 9th album and with Shin on his 2nd album). Other highlights include some unforgettable duet numbers such as the harmonious "Promise" (Track 9), featuring Park Seong Hwa of Yurisangja, and the retro funk Sarang hagi jo eun nal ("Perfect Day for Romance" - Track 4), featuring Miss Korea Lee Ha Nee. In addition, Wheesung and Kim Jae Seok of Wanted also lend support, pitching in their songwriting talents for their fellow artist.

此外，曾經與神話成員ANDY一起出演音樂劇【Love Heart】、2006年韓國小姐、目前擔任主播的李荷妮，因為曾在【金晶恩的巧克力】裡演唱過，被申彗星看到後力邀一起合唱這首復古風格的甜蜜情歌『戀愛的好日子』。

為了表現更成熟的音樂、嘗試不同風格的歌曲可能會是另一種音樂上的突破，抱著這樣的冒險心態，申彗星在這張全新的專輯裡，有著不同以往的大改變，他說：「因為挑戰其他曲風也是為了唱出更有深度的抒情曲」，希望歌迷能喜歡這次不同的申彗星。

sorry, but I actually had to come back and write a supplementary review because I don't feel I was completely honest the first time.

Although the album is well-constructed, I have to say it lacks heart. What I mean by that, it's beginning to feel that Hyesung is just a participant in this music, but is not contributing anything personal to the album. The whole time listening to the album, I felt a kind of detachment from the singer.

The true power track of this album is hands-down "Awaken", which is definately a direction I hope Hyesung will avidly persue further. Lyrics by FROG and music by Vink, it's really the charming and energetic centerpiece of this album. My second favorite is probably Urban Fever, which plays at an attempt to be a little different, but I think those boundaries could be pushed a little further. It still seems like they are treading carefully when really they could go ahead with full force. Most of Hyesung's fans are still in their twenties and so at the moment rather eclectic. It's not necessary to be so cautious.

Hyesung should also put forward a little effort to save himself from becoming just another R&B singer *(Korea has no shortage of those)

In fact, this album seemed to be primarily a work of Vink. It was more Vink's album than Hyesung's. I felt disheartened searching the lyric page for Hyesung's name and instead repeatedly seeing Vink.

The photobook was darling. The pictures are beautiful, and Hyesung is very photogenic.

This artist still has a lot of room for growth, I hope he will explore it.

Best album so far... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I can't believe he is releasing his 3rd album already.
For me this is his best album sor far, it seems that Hye-Sung has found a even better sound for his voice and personality.
We are used to our "Ballad King" but this album shows he can do more...!!
It's mixed album and I love his up-tempo song "Awaken" and also "그대라서 ", two different sounds but both fits HyeSung!
But the other songs are great too, When I first got it I listen to it over and over again. And for all Shinhwa, Hye Sung or just Korean music lovers..try this album!! It's really one of my fave of 2008! and I can't wait for his 4th!!

Amazing Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Simply amazing! From beginning to end you feel the artist's metamophisis through the music. I am blown away. Bravely stepping out of the ballad genre and touching so many different musical fields. Our meilleur chanteur Hyesung never fails to impress. The inclusion of the electric guitar in many songs was perhaps the greatest surprise. A real artist must take risks. I greatly admire Hyesung's bravery. His continued maturity in music is fascinating. He is in a league of his own vocally. on .09 Promise, the duet with Pak Soong-Hwa, their voices play off one another very well. Soonghwa's light and airy vocals against Hyesung's deeper tones is very pleasant to the ears. I love to see him actively participating in the writing of the music and lyrics as well. Even the ballads on this album are unique in that they seem to be growing and adapting to the changes in the Korean music-mainstream. I am very happy for Hyesung. As ever looking forward to his next endeavor.

I love the direction Hye Sung took with this new album. His last one had more soft ballads with a few stronger beats in the track listing making for a powerful album. This 3rd one gives the listener more variety when they plug in those headphones and Hye Sung has teamed up with fellow artists to deliver more than the soft flutters of romance.

This is definitely a must buy for any Hye Sung fan and definitely recommended as a first buy for new fans.

Hye Sung does not disappoint and the photobook is packed with touching and stirring pictures of our "Prince of Ballads"
