It has been six years since the "Godfather of Chinese rock" Cui Jian released his last album. Compared to his previous albums, this latest offering is more electronic and less rock. Stylistically more diverse, more independent yet more holistic, this album has great potential with songs in many different styles - pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, etc.

Cui Jian brings us some new colors, namely, red, blue, and yellow, through his music. He says, "Blue represents wisdom, red represents the spiritual, and yellow represents love." Color is the underlying theme of this album, whose Chinese title literally means "give you some colors." Blue is perhaps the highlight here. The song "Blue Bones," in fact his favorite on the album, spells out Cui Jian's attitudes towards life and society. Only those who appreciate the song will be able to understand him, he thinks.
