Mr. Children consistently deliver great music.
Mr. Children consistently deliver great music.

I first started listening to Mr. Children after watching the japanese series "Antique". For someone who considers japanese music either as loud and lousy or way too high-pitched , Mr. Children pretty much change my point of view completely. Off this album are 3 songs, I have listened to all 3 already. I was motivated to listen to this album because of the first track, "Sign", it's the theme song for "Orange Days", which talks about five 4th year university students' (so am I!!) struggle to face reality (of course there is romantic relationship involved, it's a series intended for younger audience. The main female character lost her hearing 3 years ago and communicate with her friends using sign language! I guess that's why the series chose Mr. Children's "Sign" as the theme song. As I listen to the song (even though I have no clue what the lyrics means) I always get reminded of the different scene of the series. Although I know little about the group, I gotta tell you, the lead singer of Mr. Children sings with his heart. Even though he doesn't have the greatest voice, (I think the lead singer of Spitz has a very great voice, btw) I can feel his emotions in his voice. Sometimes the song sounds funny, sometimes they sound sad, sometimes they soudn supportive, whatever it is, almost everytime I listen to a song by Mr. Children, I get quite emotional. No wonder they can still stay in the music business for quite some time. I would recommend this single to everyone, it truly moves your heart. |
