Eh...They can do better.

six Ugly was NOT my favorite album, and it still isn't. The songs, though they have their trademark Dir en grey edge to them, the theme of this album: extremley heavy and pure loudness, repeats itself througout the album in a less-than-impressive way. The highlights of this album are Mr. NEWSMAN and umbrella. Mr. Newsman has an insanely catchy guitar line and awesome lyrics featuring Kyo's not so great English, making it a joy to listen to and fun to watch live. Umbrella has some of the best drumming I've heard in a while, and I always find myself singing the chorus at random times. :D However, the album does have its flaws. The remakes are great, but I would have rather heard something else other than a remake. Hades and Ugly, though they are exciting to watch live, I really didn't find them to be that appealing on the album. The drum solo in Ugly, however, was a really great addition which made it a bit more enjoyable. I guess if you like this sort of music, then go for it. It's not Dir en grey's best, and I actually reccomend that if you like this music, then buy Vulgar, which has a similar style to six Ugly, but composed much better. |

obviously, the proper music is bitchin' but be careful - the cd you will receive will NOT be in its digipack edition. instead, expect to receive the basic version in a plastic box. |

I don't care what other Dir en grey fans out there say about sixUgly, I love it! All six songs are great, but my favourite has got to be Umbrella! If you don't own it, buy it! |

Excellent.
| An excellent album. The most notable and best songs have to be "Mr.Newsman", "Ugly", and "Umbrella". All the songs are at least 4 minutes so you're getting a good while out of the album. A fresh and slightly mixed genre in each song. The only drawbacks that prevent this album from being perfect is that it only has 6 songs, and "Children" was a disappointment as it sounded too much like rap. |

Good, but not "Dir en Grey" good.
| I just bought this CD yesterday at a convention and I don't regret the purchase in the slightest. However, I don't believe this album is a fair representation of Dir en Grey, it's not their style. Continually through the CD, I was reminded of Linkin Park, American Hi-Fi, Nirvana, and other such American bands. Not that that's entirely bad, I like the music of those groups, but it wasn't Dir en Grey's sound. If you're tight on money, don't go for it. Good music, but it just doesn't sound like Dir en Grey. |

pretty good
| i'm a hardcore Dir fan; i worship them. so it's not surprising that i like this album, but expect more. i understand that the main purpose of the release was to promote the tour, but after listening to their past stuff, i want more from them. don't get me wrong; this still is some gooooooood sh*t. |

Dir En Grey is only for Punk Rock lovers
| Thats Dir En Grey's style: agressive and hardcore; and I like it that way. If you don't like hard core heavy metal rock, Dir En Grey isn't for you. However, if you do like heavy trashing of gituars, Kyo's moaning, groaning, grunting, gacking and screaming, Toshiya's bumping bass, and Shinya's pounding of drums then buy this CD as a Dir En Grey fan. Its very agressive and emotional. This the best way I can express the CD to my taste. The CD isn't bad at all depending to your taste in music. |

Slightly disappointing.
| I've always loved Dir en grey, captivated by Kyo's deep lyrics. This minialbum, however, is composed of thrashing and screaming, and comparitively speaking, very shallow lyrics. Granted it's still quite entertaining as a score, but the lyrics, sadly, turn me off from this album. |

ALL Dir en Grey/J-rock fans read this..
| Dir En Grey isn't for everyone because of their style..which is heavy punk J-rock. Some people don't like that, but I do. Just because these boys looks and visual kei is a perfect ten doesn't mean that you'll love their music..which bothers me because girls in Americia go ga-ga for them because of their looks. They make their music like that on purpose, because its their style, they don't suck. If your looking for something non-heavy metal and like Dir En Grey try the KAI album because it has a lot of good remixes. They are not a J-pop group, get over it. Try Glay or Laruku in stead. |
