YesAsia Editorial Description

Though "based on a mobile phone novel" may not sound like a ringing endorsement, one would have to be in Japan to understand the phenomenal popularity of Koizora (a.k.a. Sky of Love). Penned by an anonymous writer who claims the controversial heartwrenching story to be her own experience, Koizora sold over ten million downloaded copies in its first year alone, and went on to sell in the millions in published form. The story inspired a manga, spin-off stories, and now a feature film starring Japan's latest it-girl, Aragaki Yui. Already a popular model and TV actress, Aragaki made the leap to stardom in a big way in 2007 with both her feature film and J-pop debuts. Her performances in Koizora, Koisuru Madori, and Waruboro have already garnered her Best New Performer honors at the 50th Blue Ribbon Awards. Equally fair-featured teen heartthrob Miura Haruma from Catch a Wave and 14 Year Old Mother and rising actor Koide Keisuke (Kisaragi) star opposite Aragaki in this pure love youth melodrama. At the helm is popular television director Imai Natsuki (Orange Days), making her feature film debut.

Koizora largely succeeds through its touching story and photogenic young leads whose onscreen chemistry may charm the most jaded of viewers. Aragaki and Miura star as high school sweethearts Mika and Hiro. Wide-eyed girl-next door Mika falls head over heels into first love when she meets bleached-hair delinquent Hiro. But love forces them to grow up too early as they face grave trials and tragedies together.

Excellent! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I bought the movie because Koide Keisuki is in it. The plot is predictable even though it was based on a true life story. I cried because the acting by Aragaki Yui was excellent. She looks so innocent and adorable, yet has the determination to keep her baby, a responsibility avoid by even adults. Miura Haruma is attractive as well. The two of them probably would make you go back in time to think of your first love. The story is tragic, but bitter sweet. The only thing that I warn against it is the casual relationship among teenagers.

wow Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I was still half way through watching this movie, when I decided to place an order to buy it. (And I've never had that before with a movie!) Because my goodness, I've cried my heart out just by the sheer beauty of the whole movie. This is one of those movies I could watch numberous of times and still cry and love it just as much as when I did when I watched it for the first time. I so recommend this to everyone. And if you were to choose between the drama or the movie, I'd definitely go with the movie. The drama is great too, it's explains things a little bit more, but in my opinion, the movie is just wow. :) I say buy! you won't regret it. Really.

Sky of love Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I don't know how to describe this wonderful movie.
It's based on a novel and I have to say they made this really well. first when I heard about it I thought it was going to be difficult but they really succeded! (They also made a Tv-drama, however it's not even half as good as the movie)
Aragaki Yui and Miura Haruma really fits together and are really cute. This is sad and beautiful love story.
They have captured a real life scene and it doesnt look fake at all!!
I don't know how much I cried but it was a touching movie.
It had English subtitle and that was the reason why I bought this version! this movie has been a hit in Japan, and obviously so big so they have decided to release it in other asian countries!!(which is great)
Aragaki Yui's song "Heavenly days" are also featured in the movie, which shows what she is made of, not only a cute girl, she is now turning into a woman!
The best "love story" movie of 2008.

Very Touching but Sad Movie... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a very touching but sad movie. It basically talks about the love of a pair of very young couple who never gave up each.
other. The boy never gave up fighting for cancer but had to die in the end..... A love story that will lasts the lifetime of the girl
even though she can no longer be with him..... Get a box of Kleenex ready before you watch this movie.

for G Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
hi G
im not too familiar with all this writing reviews and checking up on them and stuff. i saw that you wrote back a response to me in may..its oct now >___< im so sorry for the late reply. BUT although you prolly already found the answer to your question, unfortunately most japanese movies dont come with english subtitles :( i really dont know why. im japanese and i speak it so it don't need subtitles but its always nice to have for when my friends want to see the movie as well.
it sucks cause if i do want subtitles, i have to wait a few months until it comes out in different versions..like chinese, korean, etc.
i hope you were able to get the newer versions that have subtitles :D
once again, sorry for the late reply
