YesAsia Editorial Description

Following the successes of My Sassy Girl and My Tutor Friend, Korea produces another hilarious romantic comedy based on an internet novel. Teaming up for the first time, starlet Ha Ji Won and small-screen heartthrob Kim Jae Won show great chemistry and comedic flair as a feuding odd couple in 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant (a.k.a My Love Ssagajy and Slave Love).

Dumped by her boyfriend, high school student Ha Young (Ha Ji Won) vents her anger by kicking a can on the street. Unfortunately, the can hits Hyung Joon (Kim Rae Won) on the head, causing him to crash his Lexus. Owing Hyung Joon a hefty sum, Ha Young agrees to be his slave for 100 days to repay her debt. The arrogant Hyung Joon keeps her busy with various errands and housekeeping tasks, but when the sassy, straight-talking Ha Young finds out that her "master" is lying about the true cost of the car, she is determined to get even. Between all the hilarious scheming and fighting, there just may be deeper emotions in play, as Hyung Joon and Ha Young slowly discover more about each other.

Hail to the Korean comedy
This shrieking film packs a good punch, delivering some well-made ingredients distinctive to Korean comedies. I first saw 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant a few years earlier by chance and had an amusingly good time. Recently, I was lucky enough to enjoy a second viewing with a dear friend of mine who was equally impressed by all the hilarious fun.

The film stars actress Ha Ji Won in the role of Kang Ha Young, a happy-go-lucky high school student whose high spirits are not meant to last as her boyfriend dumps her on what was supposed to be their hundredth-day anniversary as a couple. In walks, or rather drives, macho lawyer student Ahn Hyung Joon (Kim Jae Won) who ends up the target of a soft drink can kicked by downcast and infuriated Ha Young. And here's where all the fun begins. Hyung Joon demands that Ha Young repay him for the damage caused to his sports car. Unable to pay the horrendous sum of 300,000 won demanded by Hyung Joon, Ha Young waits for an opportune moment to run for it. Unluckily for her, she drops her wallet, which Hyung Joon gladly picks up. Now it's his turn to bully poor Ha Young!

With Ha Ji Won and Kim Jae Won complementing each other perfectly, the film had me cheering about its hilarious schoolgirl-meets-older guy tale featuring mean-girl students unveiling their more romantic sides, helpless male teachers with not so proper educational methods, and a super macho guy who turns out to be likeable in his own unique way. Overall, 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant is an over-the-top comedy that I can recommend to lovers of amusing Korean films and entertaining cinema in general.

Not So Bad Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I bought this package a few years ago. At the time I didn't even know who Ha Ji Won was, but I liked Kim Jae Won a lot. I enjoyed the movie, although I agree that it could have been better. I don't remember much especially the 2nd half, but Ha Ji Won was very funny. She is now probably my favorite actress. Watch it if you're her fan or Kim Jae Won's. I usually enjoy movies by my favorite actors or actresses regardless. This is probably one of those. I forget what I did with the OST.

P.S. Congrats to Mr. Kevin Kennedy for reaching his landmark 1000 reviews! :)

Occasionally funny mess of a movie Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
"Slave Love" (or "100 Days with Mr. Arrogant") has a premise which conceivably could be amusing and has committed performances by its two attractive and talented lead actors, but it squanders these assets with a chaotic story and a host of truly disgusting gross-out humor. Disconsolate after breaking up with her boyfriend, Ha Young (Ha Ji Won) kicks a pop can lying on the road; the can then smacks Hyung Joon (Kim Rae Won) on the noggin, causing him to crash his expensive car. He demands repayment for his damages, but high school student Ha Young has no money. Consequently, Hyung Joon seeks repayment in services, forcing Ha Young to become his 'slave' for 100 days. In more skillful hands, this set-up could have been mined for comic gold, but here the story is allowed to stray on pointless tangents that wreck the film's pacing.

My favorite parts of the movie are Ha Young's wildly comic fantasy sequences; Ha Ji Won shows off an impressive gift for physical comedy. Unfortunately, the film-making here is so ham-handed and some of the humor is so tasteless that the movie is unsuitable for children and unlikely to appeal to many adults.

I love it Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I got this movie last year. I watched it again this year. I still love it. This is one of those feel good movies that I can watch it over and over and never got tired of it . I like both lead actor and actress and to see them together in a funny story. What more can I ask for?

Frustrating Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
There was some really unnecessary nasty nose picking and spit throwing in this movie in an attempt to make it funny, it came off as simply disgusting. In fact, I felt that everything about this movie was a painful struggle to make it into something it's not. OK, it's a romantic comedy, whcih given the plot, should have been cute - a really arrogant University guy makes a sweet and innocent High School girl his slave for a hundred days and sparks start to fly between them. But it felt like the people behind the movie thought that it was too simple a plot to be funny so they had to exaggerate the comedy. Wrong move.

It was pitiful to see Ha Ji Won trying so hard to be comical, I wanted to cry. Although this is the first movie of hers that I've seen, I know there's a funny side to her so they should have just let it come out from her naturally. There really was no need to squeeze it out of her.

Kim Jae Won was cool as Mr. Arrogant but it was a shame that his candid acting was swallowed up by the exagerratedness of everything around him.

And what's with the ending? It just got me thoroughly confused? Was it necessary to put that particular finale?

There's an iota of frustration here because I felt that this movie had some potential to be the light romantic comedy that it should have been.

4 kimchi dishes out of 10, thanks to the flashback scenes towards the end that kind of redeemed the movie but then they had to put that ridiculous ending.

disappointing Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
this movie's cover caught my eye so i decided to give it a try. After watching it, i regretted it. The ending is just horrible, why would the guy ever do that. It's just putting the girl in unnecessary pain. And also adding extra torture having to sit and watch. The plot was boring and cliched. And the girl starring in the movie is not exactly a good actor either. I recommend NOT purchasing this movie.
