Undeniably a classic album

Right from that spine-tingling guitar lead-in to the first track of this album, you know that something special was happening with the recording of this album. It now sounds like a greatest hits album, with one smash hit after another. We all know what a great singer Deng Li Jun was. And her greatness definitely is on display on this album. However, I wish to call special attention to the arrangements and playing on this album. The musical accompaniment here is spectacular, but always supportive, never intrusive. The orchestrations never call attention to themselves, but beautifully frame Teresa's crystal-clear, spot-on vocals. This album belongs in the pantheon of the all-time great pop recordings, right along with Frank Sinatra's Capitol Records recordings from the 1950s. If you don't already have it, then what are you waiting for? It doesn't get any better than this! |
