Excellent! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I like this CD a lot. My absolute favorite track is 瞳の住人, then follow by 接吻(Kiss), Coming Closer and Feeling Fine. I think that L'Arc~en~Ciel's music is like fine wines, it takes time to appreciate and discover your favorites if they are indeed worth it. In my opinion, they are French wines, lol! So, get this CD and I think that you won't be disappointed because the music and Hyde's vocals are excellent. :)

Their best album yet!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It's always weird to see a band outdo themselves- beforehand. I mean, to come out with a breakthrough album, and have slosh follow. Music is marked by progression, good music anyway, and Laruku's "Smile" is their best work yet! This band progresses! My actual first Japanese CD was one of their's, "Ray." My first favorite song was "Snowdrop." I skipped over their singles album, then bought "Real," and loved the songs "Neo Universe," "Bravery," and "Stay Away," but their paces always change too often per album. Not in this one. It of course contains the now super-famous "Ready, Steady, Go!" song from FMA, but then track after track after track are all awesome! I'm too used to a CD opening dramatically, then clunking all the way to the end, but this one just kept me entranced! I was surprised beyond belief. Tracks 4 and 5 are especially ingenious songs. Their catchiness is a lot like a song the Beatles would've made, but my favorite is the single "Hitomi no Jyunin." Excellent, excellent. It's a ballad, and Hide sings with a warmth and soul that seems to encompass all of his talent into one song. It opens with Ken playing a delayed guitar that I never thought was possible. He plays one-note delays so technically that it starts to resemble the sound of a saxaphone. Amazing album...

Nothing Much to get excited about. Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I was waiting for this album for like ages now but
its just .. pretty much dissapointing in overall.
But it does contain some truely great songs like:
- Ready Steady Go ( a typical Tetsu upbeat song )
- Hitomi no Junin ( another typical Tetsu ballad this time)
- Lover Boy - and of course the already famous Spirit Dreams Inside
FEELING FINE at the start you might mistake if for Ayu's "INDEPENDENT" then it just continues with really common melodies..m.. its quite bright but a bit too childish and girlish to me.
Anyway its still an ok album.

Sugoi! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is the first by L'Arc that I ever purchased. I ordered it from another source before finding YesAsia (sumimasen). I had heard Ready Steady Go on Cartoon Network's showing of Full Metal Alchemist. I had also seen the MV on PopJapan TV and Revolution program, both on the former International Channel, now AZN TV here in the US. This album is the reason for my internet searching which brought me to YesAsia, where I have since made other purchases. These guys rock better than many American & British bands I have seen! What is the most wonderful is their varied musical styles from ballads to full out rock & roll! Would LOVE to see them in a LIVE! Rock on guys! Am listening to DUNE, which I purchasesd from YesAsia!

New Fan Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
When I bought this CD, I'd never heard a song by L'Arc En Ciel before, ever in my life, so I was a little unsure about what I was getting myself into. But when I put it into my CD player, I was immediately pleased by what I heard. The rock on this CD isn't harsh or heavy, but is kind of light and very pleasing and kind of laid back. It's like being at the beach, seriously.. HYDE's vocals are terrific on every song. I would reccomend this to just about anyone. The best tracks are 02, 03, 04, 05, 09 and 10. A great buy!

Album that got me into Laruku~~~ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is the first Larc En Ciel album I've heard, and I'm already hooked! I like their Japanese punk-rock style. IMO, the best track on this CD is "Ready Steady Go", the 2nd season opening for the anime series "Full Metal Alchemist". And I've heard they're gonna tour US soon! GO LARUKU!!~~

Couldn't have done it better... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This CD is awesome! Need I say more? It's a great album for L'Arc to get back on track with. This was actually the first of their albums I've heard, and I'm currently backtracking and buying the rest of them. This band is the best, and this CD shows off just how much talent they have! If you're a fan of L'Arc~en~Ciel, or even just J-pop in general, this CD is a must have! In fact, you should buy it no matter what type of music you listen to; I guarentee you'll love it!

glad Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I'm glad they made a another album, I'm impressed, there are certain songs I'm feeling more then others, they always have nice melodic ideas, seems as the thought the music more simply constructed, not as complex as certain songs they've had in the past or hydes first album. Hyde sounds a little different, a lot deeper and doesnt' seem to play with the falseto much anymore, it's all good, sounds like he's been improving the singing

peace

L'Arc En Ciel rocks the house Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I live in Kentucky, and before getting the International Channel had never heard of L'Arc En Ciel before. After seeing them on Pop Japan T.V., I bought the album "Smile". I totally fell in love with these guys! They're brilliant!
This album has an array of music with a beautiful flow combined with seductiveley poetic words. I listen to "Smile" everyday. I highly recommend this cd.
I don't have a favorite track. I love them all. Yukihiro is awesome on drums. Tetsu rocks the bass. Ken totally works the guitar. Hyde moves you with his beautiful voice, and multi-octave range. I'm just sorry that I missed them when they came to perform live here in the states last summer. Hopefully they'll come back sometime for another performance. I'd love to see them in concert.

A fantastic album! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I'm a Japanese guy who had never had any interest in J-rock...until I came across these guys. Now all of a sudden, l'arc en ciel is my favorite band. They make me sing, make me smile, make me cry, make me dance(well almost). What the hell have they done to me?? This is a great album. Just buy the damn thing!!
