I love this show
|
I first saw this show in 2006 . It remains my favorite Korean TV drama. Ya entertainment always has good quality products. The only problem with this show is that I cannot watch it too often. The love is so intense and desperate. I love Jo In Sung and Ha Ji Won. They are very versatile and great. I love their shows. Who would have thought Ha can play poor Crytstal Lee , serious undercover police woman and then turn around to act in a couple of very cute movies(100 days with Mr .Arrogant, Love, so divine) ? I hope Yesasia will bring more good quality shows in the future. I would love to see Sung Yuri in Thousand years of love and Ha Ji Won in Hwang Jin Ye.. My 19 year old sister-in-law is also a funny old love story. Hope to see it on Yesasia's list soon. |

top of the list.
| everytime i think about buying a worthy drama that is worth my money, this is one of the drama that pops up in my head. i've never been sooo touched before. i remember crying during a scene where Ha Ji Won's character was just treated like a money hungry lady. i like how many may see how she was protrayed that way in the drama. i like her character. and the deal with who loves who more is also interesting because it helps portrays reality of people using people for self-agendas, etc. this isnt another typical love drama. the ending blew me away and although i didnt like it at first, i realized that it was what brought the drama to a great close. it told the viewers how Jo In Sung's character felt, etc. the ending also showed me that the producers, etc. were not scared to go in a different direction and stray away from the typical 'i love you, let's get marry' endings. sorry to burst anyone's bubble :P this drama is a must see. i've only seen it once throughly, but it left a deep and long impression in me. im impressed highly by it. THANKS. |

Great acting by all!
|
Loved this drama even with the unexpected ending. This is the drama that got me to watch Jo In Sung in everything else he is in now. He is intense in this drama. He is intense in his Dirty Carnival movie also. He is light hearted in the Shoot For The Stars (fun to watch), quirky in Spring Days (not one of my favorites). So Ji Sub suprises me in everything he is in. In this he is very good as in I'm Sorry I Love You. He has been in so many dramas but most of the dramas he ends up dying as in this drama. He didn't die in We're Dating Now...goodthing! What can one say about Ha Ji Won? She was great in Hwang Jin Ye and in this drama, so heartbreaking to watch her suffer as she does through out the drama. She is exceptional actress! Damo is the drama that really made me think that she will be a long lasting in her career. Watch this drama & always listen to the OST music. |

Review: It happened in Bali

This is a love triangle tragedy set in a background of social class issues. Its nothing amazingly special regarding plot. The three main actors explain their characters quite well but the relationship between them is not explained in enough detail to give us a good sentiment for the real issue between them. The nature of the female character may be found by most people as frustrating. Indeed the story as a whole is slightly frustrating and although of course it is unreal it is not as satisfying as an emotional exercise or thought experiment as it could have been. HOWEVER: That is not to say the drama is not enjoyable but I feel that many will not be willing to forgive the weaknesses in the plot and the characters to be able to immerse themselves in the story. There may be some unsatisfying gaps that will not be filled in to much benefit by your own musings. A significant portion of this drama is contained within issues of social status: rich poor, elitist, class separations etc. Of course for people who experience these issues it will offer an added kick and in light of the ravages of economic issues in korea during the IMF crises many people will find this story compelling in this respect. There is an important message brought to light in this drama and one that will touch many people particularly parents. It is perhaps in this respect that the drama redeems itself against any charges of being slightly weak in the love story. Regarding the love story, I find that other dramas are much more exciting or emotionally charging than this one. As a whole it conveys an important message and has a shocking conclusion, in the end overall I was slightly dissatisfied but that is because of my frustrations with the characters which of course is part of what was intended. You may not like it as such but you will at least feel it was important to watch or worth watching. |

must frustrating drama ever!!!
|
This was the most frustrating drama I have ever seen!! Normally the characters don't get my my nerves but I will have to say I hated Ha Ji Won's character. She was so frustrating. I don't think in the drama she really love either of the guys. Bottom line was she was just greedy. I don't understand what the 2 guys saw in her that would make them crazy for her. I don't think the 2 guys knew what they really wanted either. It was almost like they were just trying to out do each other. However between the 2 guys I would have to say that So Ji Sup's character loved her more. He took her to his mom's resturant, something he has never done with any of the other girls he's dated. So in reality he loved her more but she was just too stupid to realize that. I would've chose him over the other guy any day of the week. |

Something Happened in Bali
| I bought this dvd back in May 2007. I have watched it twice so far. It is one of the most dramatic movie I have ever seen. It is not a boring movie. I am impress with Ha Ji-Won speaking so many languages. She is one of my favorite actress. So Ji-Sub and Jo In-Sung are great actors as well. |

Very Romantic
| I think this was a great drama. It was very romantic. The story is very solid and the cast acting is well done. This is one of those dramas that you think to yourself afterwards "this is why I watch K-drama" I am glad I bought it and would recommend it to a friend |

Perhaps, more realistic drama?
| This drama is anything but typical slow brewing stew of emotional K-drama where the code and honor is at stake, but a satirical drama with rampant materialism and corporate greed is portrayed by a somewhat immature main character who is somewhere between a boy and a man. His side interest of pseudo-girlfriend drives him over the emotional cliff. His display of schitzo acting where in many instances he laughs and cries at the same time is notworthy. Overall a good fun flick. ( I have to credit the supporting character In-Wook, who actually drove Jae-Min nuts, more so than the quirky Soo-Jung, who said "I love you" in the end ). |

This is one for those who appreciate a good story with all the emotional elements. Actors play their characters well and you want to tell them to stop wussing out when they are about to hook up. In the end, there is a satisfying conclusion to the lovers. One of the most memorable dramas made. Main actress from "Damo" and "100 days with mr. arrogant" HOT HOT. Watch this one please, this is not a sappy love story. There is male testosterone and rivalry and fights. PS. To people writing reviews, STOP GIVING AWAY THE ENDING YOU INCONSIDERATE PEOPLE |
