These sisters definitely have soul
| Listening to "Best of Soulhead" is like taking a Masters class in Japanese urban music. The Soulhead sisters deliver terrific takes on hip hop, urban dance, R&B, and soul ballads. All of the songs are well-written and crisply played. Tracks 1 through 13 all serve up smoking dance beats. Track 14 is a mid-tempo Christmas love song. Tracks 15 and 16 are lovely ballads. The girls' raps are surprisingly good, rhythmically interesting if lyrically cliched. But it is when the sisters lay down lush beds of multitracked harmonies that they really shine. This is excellent, excellent state-of-the-art urban music firmly rooted in the R&B tradition. |

Honestly, this made a fan out of me. I love SOULHEAD now!! Every song is sheer brilliance and this is has been in my CD player for 2 weeks now. I can't get enough of it! Even though the PVs aren't heavy cheorography or anything like that, they're still entertaining and will have you singing and rapping along! This is one of the best compilations I've ever come across. I'd rank it up there higher than Koda Kumi's many "Best of" selections. Their collaboration with Kumi Koda did NOT display their talent as well as "SPARKLE TRAIN", "NO WAY", or "OH MY SISTER!"...these girls have it all. I love every song and all are distinct. I would not recommend this to pop-lovers or rockers. This is pure Hip Hop/Soul...the best of Urban music coming from Asians. They actually know how to do it unlike most wannabes who try too hard. This just comes natural for them. I didn't know they were so talented...and their voices are VERY impressive. Very wide vocal-range from these two beauties. Tsugumi and Yoshika serve it up HOTT with "Best Of SOULHEAD"!!! |

Very good singles collection !
| I bought this album after listening to only ''XXX feat. KODA KUMI'' and I liked the song so much that I decided to buy this best album. The first time I've listened to it, I was a little disappointed, all the songs sound the same, the lyrics are not so original and there are a lot of errors in the english grammar, but after listening to all the album five times, now I'm in love with it ! I still think that not all the tracks are excellent but 9 songs included in this collection have really impressed me positively ! |
