YesAsia Editorial Description
Japanese band Spitz, consisting of members Kusano Masamune (vocals and guitar), Miwa Tetsuya (guitar), Tamura Akihiro (bass) and Sakiyama Tatsuo (drums), have been constantly expanding their sonic horizons since their 1991 debut. Spitz's range of sound jumps from quiet folk rock to power pop tunes with noisy guitars! Kusano's catchy melody and imaginative lyrics perfectly fit the various styles of music, and the sheer creativity of his lyrics is a treat to many fans.
This is the band's 11th album, the first full-length album since Mikazuki Rock, and two years and four months in the making! Produced by Kameda Seiji of Tokyo Incidents, this album includes the Fuji Film commercial song "Prophetic Dream".

Great CD from a great band
| I've been a Spitz fan for several years now and I've been waiting for this kind of album. All the songs are great and you'll never skip through any of them. Spitz still holds on to their original and unique sound that blends rock, pop & folk together (trak 5 - is a good example of this). Although they've been around for more than a decade and have made many albums, this is my favorite one. All in all, this is a wonderful album! Everyone should own it, whether you like JRock or JPop! |

Honestly one of the best J-pop CDs...
| I've heard and reviewed many J-pop CDs, but this is honestly one of the best, most consistent albums I've heard. I admit that I've never heard Spitz until now, but I know I've missed a lot. This group has been around for a while, so their sound is somewhat vintage, but that also means that they know how to jam. They're kinda like Mr. Children, but also like other J-Rock groups that focus on a very solid rock and roll sound. I don't know how to put it! Track #5 has a very Scottish-dance rhythm, but done with rock instruments. It's my favorite. Track 2 has a melody bound to make it a classic. The lead singers voice carries well, and they used a faint orchestral background (synth) in most of these songs. I'm definitely back-tracking and getting their other albums now... |
