Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man returns in Spider-Man 3, the much-anticipated third entry in the popular film series from director Sam Raimi! Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is settling into his dual life as New York's protector, and as boyfriend to the beautiful Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). However, Peter faces his biggest challenge yet when the shape-shifting Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) appears on the scene. When Sandman is outed as the true killer of Peter's Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson), Peter puts on the costume to seek revenge.
But Peter's dark impulses attract the attention of an alien substance, which takes on the form of a black Spider-Man suit. The new suit enhances Peter's powers but also modifies his behavior, threatening to take control of both his life and destiny. Even worse, former friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) takes on the mantle of his father, the Green Goblin, to become the villainous New Goblin. Spider-Man must now battle three enemies: Sandman, the New Goblin, and also himself! Also featuring the long-awaited screen debut of popular villain Venom (played by Topher Grace), Spider-Man 3 is a mind-blowing superhero adventure that easily lives up to its blockbuster Hollywood status!

When his suit suddenly changes, turning jet-black and enhancing his powers, it transforms Peter as well, bringing out the dark, vengeful side of his personality that he is struggling to control. Under the influence of the suit, Peter becomes overconfident and starts to neglect the people who care about him most. Forced to choose between the seductive power of the new suit and the compassionate hero he used to be, Peter must overcome his personal demons as two of the most-feared villains yet, Sandman and Venom, gather unparalleled power and a thirst for retribution to threaten Peter and everyone he loves.
