SS501 Special Mini Album - U R Man

With Kim Hyun Joong busy shooting the Korean adaptation of Hana Yori Dango and Park Jung Min starring in the musical Grease, boy band SS501 has to set group activities aside for a while. In the meantime, Kim Kyu Jong, Heo Young Saeng, and Kim Hyung Jun have formed the special unit Triple-S to carry on the music, and they're now releasing the special six-track mini-album U R Man. Triple-S, which is also the name of SS501's fan club, represents a new challenge for the three members as they push a more mature sound and look, and even unveil their songwriting skills.

Produced by the same team that created SS501 hits like 4 Chance, the album's title track U R Man is just about a guaranteed hit with its catchy mid-tempo melody and urban house sound. Triple-S also collaborated with American music production company Pisces Music to add new sparks to their album. Their opening urban hip-hop track WANT IT, produced by a team that includes Shaine Freeman and Andrew Lane who has worked with artists like TLC, Backstreet Boys, Jay-Z, and 50 Cent, floats on hard beats and an East Coast Groove, creating a strong dance number that differs from the group's previous hits but still retains that SS501 charm.

SS501의 멤버 허영생 김규종 김형준이 프로젝트 그룹으로 새롭게 구성되어 스페셜 미니 앨범을 발매한다.

지난 여름 첫 번째 프로젝트 앨범인 여름 싱글 앨범을 발매해 어쿠스틱한 음악색깔을 표현한 김현중의 솔로곡 ‘고맙다’, 서정성있고 감미로운 멜로디에 재즈와 팝, 포크, 레게의 흥겨운 리듬이 융화된 ‘넌 나의 천국’, 스트링 세션의 웅장한 사운드가 펼쳐지며 호소력과 애절함이 깊은 여운으로 다가오는 ‘FIND’등을 선보인바 있는 SS501은 첫번째 프로젝트 앨범에 이어 허영생, 김규종, 김형준으로 구성된 프로젝트 그룹으로 스페셜 미니 앨범을 새롭게 선보인다.

다섯 명의 멤버로 구성된 SS501 내에서 이번 프로젝트 그룹을 위해 새롭게 탄생한 이들은 한번 SS501은 영원한 SS501이다라는 의미로 팀명 그대로 활동하게 된다.

11월 24일 발매되는 SS501의 스페셜 미니 앨범에는 평소 이들 멤버가 추구했던 음악과 이들의 음악적 한계를 넘는 다양한 음악 6곡이 수록된다. 이중에는 멤버들이 직접 작사, 작곡한 멤버 각자의 솔로 곡도 담겨있다. 타이틀곡 [U r Man]은 SS501의 “4Chance”와 “널 부르는 노래’등을 작곡한 한상원의 곡으로, 복고적인 느낌과 트랜드적인 느낌이 교차하는 미디움템포의 하우스곡으로, 독특한 전개와 한상원 특유의 중독성있는 멜로디, 랩이 돋보이는 곡이다. 특히 이번 앨범은 SS501만의 새로운 스타일을 위하여 미국의 유명 음악 프로덕션인 'PISCES MUSIC INC.'(파이시스뮤직)의 참여로 세계적으로 유명한 프로듀서들과 한국의 유명 스텝들까지 이번 SS501의 앨범을 위해 직접 제작에 참여, 화제가 되고 있다.
