SS501 welcomes music lovers with their debut album S.T 01 Now.
The latest all-male K-pop band consists of Kim Hyun Joong, Park Jung Min, Kim Kyu Jong, Oh Young Saeng, and Kim Hyung Jun. Skilled in dancing and instruments, the five members fit well into the model of today's mainstream K-bands. As for the music selection on the boys' debut CD, the principal track is Unlock, while funky hip-hop rhythms are served on Four Chance and R&B-style pop on Hana. Other songs worth mentioning include the beautiful harmony number Again, Man which was inspired by ideas from band leader Kim Hyun Joong, and the radio-motif tune Radio Star. Also featuring Sky, which was very well received at a recent live concert in Osaka, and the remix of their debut single "Warning" (Track 14), SS501 is ready to make their stand in the K-pop universe.

[SS501 S.T 01 NOW] 라는 앨범 타이틀은 SS501의 'S'와 그들의 팬클럽 Triple S의 'T'의 약자로 SS501과 트리플에스가 이번 1집 앨범을 통해 이제부터 영원히 하나됨을 의미하며, 총 14곡이 수록된 이번 앨범은 신곡 13곡에 SS501이란 이름으로 첫 선을 보였던 시절의 타이틀 곡 '경고'까지 새로운 버전으로 만나 볼 수 있다.
타이틀곡 'Unlock' 은 다른 Boy Band들과의 차별화, SS501만의 특별함, 그리고, 멤버 5명의 Image와 color를 잘 표현해 줄 수 있는 섬세함과 부드러움 속의 강함, 강함 속의 부드러움 그리고 거칠지만 세밀한 절제된 느낌을 살리는 것에 Point를 맞췄다. 이곡의 작곡가는 SS501이 한국 대중음악의 하나의 Artist로서 한걸음, 한걸음 나가기 위해서 보다 확실한 방향성을 가진, 그리고 성숙한 음악이 필요하다고 판단, SS501만의 개성있고 보다 완성도 있는 음악을 들려준다는 목표로 작업에 임하였다고 한다.
펑키하면서 강한 힙합 리듬이 매력적인 한상원 작곡의 '4Chace', 인기곡 제조기 박근철의 'Hana', 특히나 이 곡은 SS501의 팬들을 Hana 라는 소녀로 가정하여 노랫말을 만든 것이 인상적이며, 90년대 팝 알앤비 스타일의 곡이다. SS501의 감미로운 음성과 하모니를 느낄 수 있는 서정적이면서도 웅장한 스케일의 묘미가 매력적인 곡 'Again'은 슬픈 마음의 감정을 너무나도 잘 표현해내는 성숙한 SS501의 보컬이 포인트이며, 섬세하면서도 한편의 드라마를 보는 듯한 스토리보드가 압권인 곡이다.

Loving this..
| I actually became a fan of SS501 because i heard KARA singing Bye bye :P Then i suddenly fell in love with their charming voices.. This album is really good.. And the photo book .. They look really handsome ^^ !! Aside from looks !! I really love the tracks .. Stand by me, Bye Bye, Radio star, And Man ^^ I really recommend those tracks ^^ |

I bought SS501's album on a whim, without ever before really listening to them and I can't say I regretted it. It's a good album and I think even a casual kpop listeners will like it. Those 5 boys have good voices and even more important, good harmonization. Their songs variate between rock-pop like Existence and Unlock, to cute pop like Stand by me to typical, full fledged boybandish-pop like Namja and Four Chance. To sum it all up, I can't say I was blown away by this album, but for it's good for casual Sunday mornings and random dance-off. |

| This is truly an impressive album from a group of very talented singer/entertainers. SS501 has grown tremendously in their singing abilities. They can sing different genre songs very well. I was very impressed with this album. They're truly on their way to be great singers! Great job indeed. |
