Despite experiencing some initial production setbacks because of a swine flu scare, 2009 SBS drama Swallow the Sun has regained lost ground with a strong showing in ratings. Bolstered by the highly anticipated reteaming of All In producer Yoo Cheo Yong and screenwriter Choi Wan Kyu, this gripping drama revolves around three strong-willed young people - Ji Sung (New Heart), Sung Yu Ri (Snow Queen), and Lee Wan (Trees in Heaven) - and their pursuit of love, success, and revenge as they strive to develop Seogwipo, Jeju into a world city. The drama features location shooting in Las Vegas, South Africa, and Jeju.
Featuring a completely different tracklist than the drama's first soundtrack, Swallow the Sun OST Special mellows down with an atmospheric selection of new age, jazz, and classical from renowned world music artists including Lou Bega and Todd Gordon. Interestingly, this release also includes a classic version of the title theme "Swallow the Sun", and English versions of main theme "Voice" and ending theme "Fate".

19일 가요 OST 발매를 시작으로, 드라마의 곳곳에 빠질 수 없는 이야기의 중심이 되고 있는 팝,
뉴에이지, 그리고 클래식까지…. ‘태양을 삼켜라’ OST 스페셜 앨범이 발매되었다.
스페셜 앨범에는 가요 외에 드라마 전반에 걸쳐 각 장면 마다 음악으로 하여금 멋진 영상들을
더욱 돋보이게 하여 극적인 분위기를 이끈 곡들로 가득하다. 가장 먼저 드라마의 메인 테마인
‘태양을 삼켜라’ 클래식 버전과 지성, 성유리 테마, 유오성 테마가 스페셜 앨범의 시작을
들려주고 있다.
이번 스페셜 앨범에 참여한 아티스트만으로도 출연진만큼 화려하다.
한국에서 뮤지컬 ‘태풍’으로 대상을 받은 작곡가 데냑 바르탁(Zdenek Bartak)의 온화하면서도 서정적인 음악과, 유호성 테마로 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 뉴욕 재즈 보컬리스트
토드 코튼(Todd Gordon)의 ‘Everything must change’가 올 가을 매력적인 보컬로 여심을
흔들고 있다.
또한, Mombo No.5로 전세계적으로 많은 사랑을 받았던 Lou Bega(루 베가)가 쿠바리듬에 스윙,
소울, 랩의 절묘한 조화의 곡인 ‘Dance like an Africa’로 다시 한번 뜨거운 무더위를 잠재워줄 또 하나의 숨은 곡이다.
