SOWELU: Sweet Bridge
|
The other reviewers of this album are all correct--this is one of the best J-Pop albums in a long time. Almost all of the songs are spot-on hits, with only "The Rose", a cover of a standard song in America, being the weakest of the group. While "The Rose" isn't a bad song, it doesn't showcase all of her various ranges and singing talent as it does in all of the other songs. Sowelu really hits all of her high marks with this follow-up album, and having various styles of music (dance, R&B, slow ballads, etc.) all mixed in gives any listener a favorite song on this well-produced CD. Her first album "Geofu" was a good introduction to this talented and beautiful singer. "Sweet Bridge" proves that she's no one-time wonder. Sowelu is here to stay in the J-Pop industry for years to come, and if "Sweet Bridge" is any indication, she's a major force to be reckoned with--get this album now, you won't be disappointed! |

Waay unexpecting...
| I was way unexpecting of what I got from this album. I read reviews and ascertained that she is R & B, although some songs here are pop and almost techno. Yet, she's not like other R & B-ists who try to play the part all the way- She's a talented singer that sings any style too well. The #4 track is just stunning. It's truer R & B in the same style as Usher's "Burn," but this one of course is all its own. R & B songs (true) need to keep flowing, obscuring the beginning and end of the chorus, like track 4. I also liked her performance of "The Rose." There's just a personal touch of hers that hard to explain (hear for yourself)... |

Finally, her new album is here!
|
After waiting for a year and a half, Jpop fans are finally treated to a sweet surprise. Sweet Bridge is a wonderful album, and one of the best I've heard in years! The songs "I Will", "Last Forever", "No Limit" and "Glisten" are reason enough to buy this album. But instead of relying on her previous singles to make this album worthwile, Sowelu gives us 7 brand new songs! "Do You Remember That?" is a great soft-rock/R&B song, "He is not for me", however, is a lively, up-beat song, and is perhaps my favourite on this album because her voice sounds so great and the song is so fluent. The next three songs, "Cloudy", "shower" and "Joy" are just brilliant! Each song is so unique, and yet so familiar! Sowelu's voice sounds very mature and sweet, rewarding the listener for his or her attention. "Secret Candle Light" and "You are my everything" are wonderful slow-dance songs, and really make a great finish for this album. The only song I couldn't place was "the Rose", it really didn't fit with this album, and I would have rather seen a song like "Candy Rain" or "Just Wanna Splash" in its place. That doesn't take away that it's a great song though. The Miss Monday song doesn't really count as a Sowelu song, because Sowelu only has 4 lines in it. Despite that, I still like the song. Sweet Bridge is a great buy, whether you are a first time Jpop listener or an established fan. I garantee that you won't regret buying it! |

Finally her second album!!!
|
I like this CD, I have been hearing the samples from her site, and they all sound good. It took me awhile to get used to it since Geofu. This album has more R&B songs, and others mixed with pop and R&B. I adore "Shower" "Last Forever", "No Limit", "Glisten" "I Will', and the song she did with Miss Monday are my faves. If you're like me and u bought Geofu, I highly recommend you to buy "Sweet Bridge" it's a good follow up album, since a year and a half since Geofu has been released. My only problem is "The Rose" I dont like it, she could have picked a better song like "Just Wanna Splash" or "Private night" or "Loving you" {CD's I recommend are Crystal Kay's 4Real, Sowelu's Geofu, Mika Nakashima's Love, and any Cds from Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikaru} |
