Taiwanese director Ho Ping, famous for his idiosyncratic and artistic crime films, turns to a slightly more accessible thriller Sweet Revenge, his first film to enter the Mainland Chinese market. Teenager Xiaochun has always hated his step-parents, for they only love his younger sister Rong, so he set fire to his house and killed them. After that, he disappeared. Twenty years later, Rong (Fan Bingbing), now a 24-year-old girl, knows nothing about what her brother has done, although she can never forget her parents' deaths. One day Xiaochun (Nick Cheung) surprisingly re-appears as her best friend's fiancee. Meanwhile, she also comes across a man (Anthony Wong) who has her late father's camera at hand. She then starts investigating the fire that destroyed her family two decades ago, without knowing the danger that lies ahead...
