Bestselling novelist Jin Yong's excellent wuxia novel The Sword Stained With Royal Blood gets adapted for the big screen in Swift Sword, a pulse-pounding swordplay adventure directed by Ho Meng Hua. Ling Yun portrays Bai Yi Ping, a man on a mission to wipe out as many members of a rival family as possible. His reason? They're responsible for the vicious rape and murder of his beloved sister, and Yi Ping is out for justice! Blinded by rage, he goes so far as to abduct one of their own, a girl named Qiu Xia (Lily Li). It's all a ploy to lure her father (Lo Lieh) out in the open, but to Yi Ping's surprise, he soon finds himself falling for his captive prisoner, a turn of events that spurs him to give up his plan for vengeance. Although the two quickly fall in love, it's no surprise that her family is furious at the match. A confrontation ensues, and Yi Ping ends up at the bottom of a cliff, his final fate unknown.

The villains abscond with Yi Ping's prized treasure map, the one he'd hoped would lead him to some gold that he could use to support his fellow countrymen in their attempts to fend off the barbarian invasions.
