I was a fan of Oldboy, but this movie is absolutely terrible. The movie seems to just drag on and on, and I honestly wish I did not waste my time watching this garbage.
Don't buy it or even watch it.

I have high expectation of this movie and the actress.
Sorry to say I am not impressed with this movie after watching it. All I can say is the actress is really pretty.

Going into this movie I had great expectations but this movie turned out to be so bad I wanted to quit many times before it finally ended. The plot was loose and there was no excitement what so ever. In fact it dragged on and on and on. It's so ridiculous I'd say don't waste your money on this one!

Quite entertaining. Some funny parts, some disturbing and of course violent parts. Towards the end, it seemed to drag on, but only a little.

All I can really say is that ... I. Enjoyed. This. Film!

yeah, my review isn't that helpful... but I guess the reason why I enjoyed this film so much, is because I didn't compare it to his previous films while I was watching it. I held it to it's own light. And I think, if you put all biases aside, and just watch it for what it is (a film)... I think you'll enjoy it. (I enjoyed this film far more than his previous ones, btw, now that I think of it).

And it's more of a black comedy (not slapstick, but it has tinges of humor throughout the film).

This movie is very different from SFMV and Oldboy. It focuses more on character development, so keep that in mind before viewing it. Sympathy For Lady Vengeance is a beautiful and disturbing revenge tale. Very artsy in its execution. It uses a lot of religious overtones, dealing with prayer and redemption. But this movie is sprinkled with some graphic imagery that rivals SFMV and Oldboy. In fact, I think the heavy subject matter near the end, dealing with the children and their parents, surpasses those two all together. I still think those films are great, but this one goes a little deeper and hits harder. And Lee Young Ae's acting is superb. It's definitely a movie that stays with you after 1 or 2 viewings. A must see, if you're a fan of Park Chan-Wook's work!

this movie was just eh.... if you're going to watch this movie to get the same feel as revenge of mr vengeance and old boy, you will be very disappointed just like me. This movie is pretty boring and most part, it's all talk without any killing/action. I would recommend you rent this movie instead of buy..
