Simplistic beauty Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I really love this song. ERIKA has a sweet and soft voice. It's not the best, but it's so lovely! I know Erika is getting alot of heat since she acted up on public TV, but everyone has their days. Yes, it was immature and unprofessional but we're all human, even Erika and all other J-pop artists everyone usually finds to be "perfect". I enjoy this single, despite me not really being a fan of Erika's music nor seeing any of her movies. The B-side is so great too! I love it just as much as "Taiyou no Uta"!!!!! ^__^

Very adored for her looks only Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
I really can't see what's so great about this girl's voice. She sounds bad on some notes and often falls flat or goes out of tune. You can tell people only like her for her looks. She's not really pretty though, in my oppinion. (I've seen her without makeup, so I'm scarred for life)

I just really think those who buy this are shallow, because there's nothing to really like about it except the girl herself...and when I say that, I mean NOTHING to do with her music. As you may be able to hear, it's not that good at all.

I recommend artists like "BoA", "Otsuka Ai", "Mika Nakashima", or "Hitomi Shimatani"

Fantastic cd Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This cd is great although her singing is a little weaker then some other jpop artists but the tunes are catchy and great.

If you are a fan of Sawajiri Erika this cd would be great for your collection.

Very Mediocre Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
This single is definitely overrated. Sawajiri's vocals are very weak. Theproducers managed to cover that up with superb instrumentals. Although she did take lessons to play the guitar, she is not skilled at it and she definitely did not compose the song or write the lyrics. I agree with the reviewer who said this single is not worthy of all the great reviews and recieved because this single is not that great. I do think the melody is great and addicting, but Erika Sawajiri needs to work on her singing.

You should buy this only if you are a fan of Erika Sawajiri or if you are a fan of the drama Taiyou no Uta.

Simply amazing Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
For anyone who listens to this single, you'll be hooked. This single has taken Japan by storm! it stayed in the top 20on ORICON for very long

and in reply to someone elses review were they said "she took lessons to act like she could play", they are incorrect. erika took lessons to play guitar, she's not acting.

I hightly recomend this single, and along with this, any other Erika Sawajiri drama's (especially 1 Litre of Tears)

Decent but Overrated Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I don't think Sawajiri Erike is that great of a singer. Sure, her songs are catchy, but that is only because they've been played over and over again in the drama and in the promotional videos. The tune of the song is addicting, but truthfully, Sawajiri Erika does not have a adequately developed voice.

Also, to those who think that she wrote this song and can play the guitar? She can't. She took a short course so she could act like she can play the guitar, but she most definately did not compose the song.

This single is decent, the songs are nice, but I do not think it is worthy of all the great reviews it has received. I think it is only worth buying if you are a fan of Erika Sawajiri or if you are a fan of the drama "Taiyou no Uta".

#1 Rookie! Go ERIKA Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
for those of you who don't know already, this single contains tracks from sawajiri erika's most recent drama "a song to the sun". the two tracks are amazing, as this was sawajiri's debut. she was given the title "#1 rookie in all of jpop history" for raking in an equivalent of about $6million hongkong dollars for sony records, even BEFORE the single was released, from ring-tone downloading. this is a must-buy for me, and im looking forward to seeing more singing and acting from sawajiri in the near future.

I AM ADDICTED TO THIS SONG !!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Sawajiri Erika uses her character name 'Kaoru Amane' on this CD. It's the character from drama 'Taiyou no Uta' (A song to the sun.At this moment, I am still watching ep8. Waiting for ep 9!! 'Taiyou no uta' and 'By my side' both are sung in the drama as well. Both are HIGHLY addicted. You will get even more attracted to them if you watch the drama. Indeed, a NICE one! Ever since I started watching Ep1, I just can't stop watching!

I am surprised! Erika CAN play guitar!? and write songs by herself!? She has changed SO MUCH! From she was posting for bikini shots (yes she did, lol) and the crying babe from '1 Liter of tears' (An ultra hit japanese-drama).

Erika has truely recreated herself.

Wow! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The first time I heard about Erika Sawajiri was when my friend introduced me to Taiyou No Uta, the drama show. From then I loved it and to have a song with the title of my favourite drama, I had to listen to it. Not to my amazement, it is a truly spectacular single, where Sawajiri shows us her beautiful voice and acoustic guitar skills. She sings very nicely and has a true talent. Only to be more perfected!
Also on this CD is the song 'Stay With Me' this was initially from the drama, it is also a relativaely peaceful song, that she has written herself.
This is definitely worth the click of the "Add To Cart" button. you won't regret it, but you will if you don't!
