TOKIO's 40th single and their first in nearly a year, Taiyou to Sabaku no Bara is the theme song for the NTV drama Kareinaru Supai starring Nagase Tomoya and Fukada Kyoko. The other track Subeki Koto, written by leader Joshima Shigeru and composed by Kokubun Taichi, is the ending theme to the band's Fuji TV show 5LDK.

The First Press Limited Edition B comes with a DVD containing the Subeki Koto video clip and TOKIO STATION II ~Hanasubeki Koto Hen~.
