The story opens with two races that have populated the Kingdom of Callegia existing in the world in far ancient times. The "Huma" race has great knowledge while the "Gajuma" race holds great strength. Despite the great differences between these two races, there was no great war between the two until the king of Callegia passed away.

In terms of the game systems, this entry features the ability to switch from a standard quarter view to a close-up view. Also new is the three-line Linear Motion Battle system in the combat model. This system places enemies and allies on three different planes, namely the long-, mid- and short-range planes. Positioning thus becomes an important strategic element here since characters and enemies can switch among those three planes during the battle. You have to decide to position party members on different lines or place them all on the same line for fighting.
