Very happy with this CD
Very happy with this CD

As the title states, I was very happy when I listened to this CD. Sadly, as artists continue with music for a long time, they tend to go downhill, and that fact made me wary of Ayumi Hamasaki bringing out more CDs. However, I was very much proven wrong when I listened to it. There is so much energy in the songs, they actually make you want to blast up the volume and head bang in your seat! Such well written songs, mixed with Ayu's phenomenal voice, it makes for an exceptional CD. The chorus is catchy, and you sing along whether you know the lyrics or speak Japanese or not. A load of nonsense will do - you can feel the passion. The piano intros leading into heavy distorted guitars is a good change, and it doesn't sound wrong or negative. It sounds natural - the contrast is spectacular, especially in decision. Switching from piano - guitar - piano - guitar, it keeps you on the edge, waiting to dance again. Ayumi Hamasaki never fails to satisfy, and I 100% recommend this to any Ayu fan. Also, the Orchestra version of fated was a nice touch. A good song originally, and hearing it so softly played makes it all the more magical |

Despite the low sales, this single has once again topped the oricon charts and received #1 in many other charts. All i can say is why?!?! This single is definitely one of her bests, 2 catchy rock songs with deep and meaningful lyrics and the orchestra version of fated is just beautiful. The CD covers for both version is awesome, nice red background which will greatly contrast the difference between ayu and the cover. The photoshoots are awesome and the booklet inside is awesome. This is nonetheless one of the best singles of 2007 along with her last release glitter / fated. BTW, the PV's are awesome, nice and simple but i favour decisions PV more :D! And her new hairstyle is win. So i RECOMMEND EVERYbody to BUY THIS SINGLE! |

Best single of 2007
Best single of 2007

I have heard alot of releases this year by many different artists..but none can add up to a release such as this in my oppinion. The title track is amazing, packing with energy, and has powerful lyrics..as Ayumi is known for. decision is just as good as talkin to myself and can possibly be disputed as being better. Both are magnificent rock songs with edge, attitude, and wonderful compositions. Its clear to see that Ayumi is stronger and better than ever. 10/10 stars! This is clearly the best single of 2007. |

Rock on, Ayu!!
Rock on, Ayu!!

Rightly distancing herself from her oversexed contemporaries and newcomers like Leah Dizon, Ayu dishes out some fantastically composed rock songs with 'talkin' 2 myself' and 'decision.' A big departure from her drama-esque previous single, both the songs are more lyrically powerful and emotionally complex. As for the PVs, 'talkin' 2 myself' features Ayu and her backup dancers in a war torn area dancing up a storm while 'decision' sees a more standard approach as Ayu rocks out with the entire band in tow. Overall, this is a great single from Ayu, one that I have already listened to multiple times and still have not tired of. Rock On!! |

best single since 2005.
best single since 2005.
| finally ayumi is back with her awsome rock songs. i totally missed her deep rock voice in songs like "alterna" cuz i just cant take her high voice for a long period of time. "talkin' 2 myself" and "decision" are both excellent songs. decision has a beautiful arrangement with rock and orchestra (i love those songs!!) i highly recommend this single to everyone. also note ont he cover, i think the single+dvd version's cover isnt half bad. reminds me of the the old her, the cd only version is a little eh. but i love the black and red<3 |

a true come back~...

after the completion of glitter/fated ayu and her team immediately went into the writing of [talkin` 2 myself]. i have to admit, when i heard of the title at first, i wasn`t too impressed. the songs however, completely make me forget any doubts i had about this single. this, i feel, is true ayu, and a refreshing rock song. i wasn`t as impressed with previous singles, but this just brings back the reasons as to why i really like ayumi hamasaki. you`d think the coupling song, [decision], would be the complete opposite, slow tempo and soft, but it is also a rock song. a completely different feel, but a very satisfying sound. the orchestra version of [fated] is a very nice rendition, and not what i expected at all compared with previous orchestra versions. the dvd includes a PV for both [talkin` 2 myself] and [decision]. you really don`t want to miss ayu dancing in the rain and mud, not to mention her grundgey image in [talkin` 2 myself]. for a comment on the covers, i actually like them. though a bit plain, i feel they are reminiscent of the old ayu, an image that many remember during her days of [evolution] when she had rather short hair. if you`ve started to loose interest, or doubt ayu`s music latley, this is one single that will turn that opinion around. many of my friends that like and don`t like ayu, have been impressed by this single, lyric and music wise. without any doubt, i`m sure this single will top the charts and be very successful, don`t miss out! |

Verily Good, But....
Verily Good, But....
| I really love these new songs, and I can't wait to hear the orchestra version of "fated", but frankly I have heard better rock songs than this one from Ayu.(ie. GAME, my name's WOMEN, until that Day) I've noticed that it seems like she's not using her full vocal capabilities like she's done in the past before her releases of this single and "glitter/fated". I adapted to "glitter/fated" after awhile and liked these 2 new songs right away, but I just think she needs to really put that spark back in her voice. My other complaint is her covers this year. She looks gawd awful on the covers of this single, and I've had over 100 other people agree with me there. I wouldn't mind something real pretty like she did with Memorial Address or Secret. So, on the whole it's a verily good single, and I honestly do reccomend it as long as you can get over the covers. Also, I must admit that I'm glad to see the name CREA back in the composing list. It's been awhile since she last composed a song on her own. So, good single, but not entirely perfect. 8/10 |
