CRY NO MORE (Japan Version)
July 28, 2006 It's different...Many people say that this sounds like Americanized jazz fused pop rock, and it may be true. Cry no More reminded me of gospel music. All she needed was a choir and it woulda been great for church--not one of my favorite tastes in music, but it was okay I guess. Black & Blue was way better than the first track. It's fast paced jazz/rock with a catchy chorus that's partially sung in English. I think it was written by the same person who wrote Seven. Not sure though, but that was a great song. I was slightly disappointed with this single, but it's OK. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Shake You Down (Japan Version)
July 28, 2006 Good Beat!FLAME is not the same ever since lead singer, Kyohei left the group. So they replaced him with this guy named Seigo, who looks like the twin of Yu Kitamura. Let me say this: Shake you Down has a good beat for dancing, but vocally, it's horrible. The whole group sounds really flat, and it seems like the over confident Yusuke Hizaki has taken over the lead, with his shaky voice. Seigo sounds like Yu, who wasn't really much of singer to begin with, so you're basically left with a flat sounding group. My Confession seems rather dull, so this single really didn't impress me. Shake you Down though, is worth listening to at least a few times. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
CK5 (Normal Edition)(Japan Version)
July 28, 2006 If you're new to Crystal Kay..Tyte that Crystal Kay is half African American and half Korean speaking and singing in fluent Japanese. And she's becoming more popular in Japan. Yeah! Anyway, this is a great album if you're like me, and don't know any of her music. This is all of her best songs on one disc. Most of them are good. LOST CHILD is my favorite song. It's got a waltz-like feeling to it, but has a beautiful melody and lyrics. Her vocals are very good, and I think they surpass many Japanese singers. Lead me to the End is a great ballad with strong vocals and nice melody. Motherland is the ending song from Full Metal Alchemist. It's not really my favorite though. Boyfriend -part II- is a mix of pop and r&b and is ok as well. Eternal Memories was her debut song at only the age of 13?? but you can't tell by her singing! Composed by popular anime song writer, Yokko Kanno, this is a beautifully composed piece, and one of my favorites. Hard to say features rap group Sphere of Influence, and is a pop/hip hop song which is cute. I LIKE IT features M-flo, and is the only "hip-hop" like song on the album. Her style is mainly pop or pop/r&b. Great album to listen to. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Koi no Tsubomi (Japan Version)

May 10, 2006 Hmm...more cutesy songs???I was hoping for some more R&B or great danceable songs...but this one reminded me of Birthday Eve which I didn't care for that much. I hate these happy hyper cutesy songs. The melody for Koi no Tsubomi is better than bday eve, but it's just way too happy. For some reason, these kind of songs sound the same. This release doesn't make me excited at all, and I didn't like the message the PV and the song were sending--that if a woman fixes herself up with makeup and clothes, she'll get a date?? May 10, 2006 Nice Try...With such a long name for the song, I was expecting something different from Namie for a change. CSCEIM was a pretty catchy song, and I thought it was interesting with the instruments and the swing beat; a lot more upbeat and not heavy on R&B or hiphop. That song alone seemed a little better than White Light, but the B side, Ningyo is what brings the rest of the single down. First of all, the melody alone is what makes it bad, and it almost sounds a little childish. Namie's vocals for this ballad though, were not her best, and it makes me wonder if she can sing any more of them. Overall, first song is okay, second song is horrible. Dakishimeru (Japan Version)
March 20, 2006 not as good as her previous singles...Dakishimeru had a nice techno beat going on, but the chorus was just horrible. It's a bit too poppish for me. Companied by the music video, it's almost kind of childish. It's not the worst song, but I didn't feel it at all, and she sounded like she was wailing throughout the entire chorus. Before you said goodbye to me started off okay, but I got really bored listening to it. It's an up tempo slow pop song, but there's something about the instruments or arrangment that make the song less mature than it's supposed to be. Not as good as Do the Motion or Make a Secret, but it wasn't horrible. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

March 20, 2006 rushed filler music...I've also heard both songs on this "rushed" single, Brand New beat. Brand new beat sounds like something for a preschooler's television show. How can that be a brand new beat? Seriously, the song is extremely upbeat and very very poppish. It's a song that I can imagine seeing little kids everywhere sing. Your Color I guess was supposed to be a more dramatic ballad, and it was much enjoyable than the first song. Overall, that song was very average and would fit as your typical Tv drama ending theme. There was no point in even making this single. It's clearly not her best and not worth any of your money. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

March 3, 2006 not interesting enough...I usually complain about BoA's voice in all her music, but this time, it wasn't the voice that was bothering me--it was the track listing. Most of the songs on here weren't that great, except for Do the Motion, Cosmic Eyes, and Make a Secret. The rest were your average pop, except for Outgrow~Butterfly--that was a very bad song. Kawariyuku Sora (Japan Version)
February 23, 2006 the worst w-inds. song evernot even the B-side could help this single. I don't know who wrote it, but it was pretty bad. It sounds very average and reminds me of the style from yume no basho he. The chorus was not strong, and I felt myself daydreaming after listening to only 30 seconds of the song. It's just one of those songs that don't make you feel anything. It was way too upbeat and wasn't interesting at all. Definitely not worth your money. Did you find this review helpful? February 23, 2006 finally....a good songEver since their album Ageha, I didn't really like any of the other singles after that, except for all of their B-sides. I'm so glad that It's in the Stars is upbeat and great to dance to. It's about time they got away from all of those ballads! Though it's not as good as Super Lover, I still enjoyed it. November 24, 2005 still not the best...this song had an interesting melody, and I thought it would be just as good as Simple and Clean, but it just wasn't. The chorus just keeps repeating and repeating. It's an interesting-sounding chorus and all, but it gets tiring after the first two times. The video is like some big production and seems to exaggerate this song way too much. The video is interesting, but way too overdramamatic. There isn't much to the song, and I would not buy this single unless you are a true fan of hers. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
KODA KUMI secret FIRST CLASS LIMITED LIVE (Overseas Version)
November 24, 2005 not the best...only the very beginning and parts in the middle and the end held my interest. Her voice is alright live, but she doesn't do a whole bunch of singing; only when it came to the ballads. It just didn't hold my interest the whole time. I guess since this is her first concert, it won't be the best, but I wouldn't buy it. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

You get everyone excited about a song that's so boring. Sure, there are plenty of good ballads out there, and there are plenty that are just plain boring--like this one! It could have touching words, but if you don't know what she's singing about, and you're listening to this when you're SUPER tired--watch out--you might be asleep in seconds. MY STORY (Japan Version)

December 17, 2004 Boring...This album is much much better than Rainbow, but all the new songs not from her singles are just boring! The only OK ones were "About You," "My name's WOMEN," and "Humming 7/4." Of course, Carols, Inspire, and Moments are all great, but the rest is just junk! It sounded like a rip off of some American rock songs. As always, Ayu's lyrics are beautiful, but music-wise--she needs more variety on this album! Should you get this album? Hmm...it does include some great singles... Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Kireida (CD+DVD) (Japan Version)
July 26, 2004 Great Effort!Although I was disappointed with the single, Pieces, Kireida is such a catchy and wonderful song! The PV is very fun, and it's worth your money! If you like Super Lover, then this song will remind you of it! To make it even better, read the translation to the song...it's so sad, yet nice. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
