A respected actor, director, producer, singer, and composer, Teddy Robin was one of the movers and shakers of the Hong Kong film and music industry during the 1970s and 80s. Teddy Goes to the Movies is his first original album in some 20 years and his first CD recording ever as all his previous albums were during the days of vinyl. Teddy Goes to the Movies contains covers of 12 songs from films that he had worked on before like "Waste of Breath" (Track 6), "Night Fragrance" (Track 9), and the Cops and Robbers theme song (Track 1). Many talented local and overseas musicians were recruited for this album, including Jun Kung, Ted Lo, Yeung Wun Biu, Donald Ashley, former Paul McCartney And Wings guitarist Laurence Juber, and Euro jazz group Funk Unit leader Nils Landgren. The songs were especially rearranged to highlight Teddy's signature rock style, as well as folk and jazz elements.

This edition comes with a DVD containing two music videos.
