A young Leslie Cheung stars in Teenage Dreamers, a romantic drama-comedy produced by Shaw Brothers studios. Ting Ting (Chow Sau Lan) and Shan Shan (Rowena Cortes) are high school students and best friends who find love and growing pains on the road to adulthood. Ting Ting tries out for the school stage production of Romeo and Juliet, and promptly falls for Jackson Chen (Leslie Cheung), the director and lead of the play. Romance blossoms, and Ting Ting is swept away by the sudden excitement of first love. But Jackson turns out to be more of a player than a partner. Will Ting Ting's first love end painfully for her? Featuring a soundtrack populated with songs performed by both Leslie Cheung and Rowena Cortes, Teenage Dreamers is a touching and familiar tale of youth. The young stars bring a fresh-faced exuberance and winning innocence to this bittersweet, nostalgic coming-of-age tale.

Teenage Dreamers

Strictly for Leslie fans only. The movie is quite straightforward about common teenage problems like dating, 'generation gap', first love, rowdy classroom behaviour (some bad eggs do behave like this) weekend socials (beach bbqs were top of the to-do things back in the 70s), what teenagers do behind their parents' back and how to get over a breakup. A prelude to Leslie's bigger movie offers and acting ability. Supporting casts were ok (quite lame at times) and nothing out of the ordinary. Probably won't watch this movie for another year! Leslie could have sung those songs much better. |

Refreshing
| What a great movie!! For those of you who have watched Hong Kong movies this is one of those out of the ordinary. This movie shocked me because of the issues it dealt with and the time in which the movie was filmed in. I couldn't believed that this was filmed in the 70's or 80's. Their issues are so hardcore for the conservative Chinese people. My mom watched it with me and she cringed at how open they were. For those who have watched the Japanese drama God please give me more time you would love this movie. Leslie was so young in the movie, he looks so handsome in this movie. All the actors/actresses acted very well. I promise you that you would get a kick out of this movie. Despite the movie was set in the 70 or 80's it's still relevant in today's times. |

MMM......too bland

this movie is too boring, not like what i'm used to. if you wanna see good movies,watch: my sassy girl, lovers concerto, il mare, last present, the list goes on. maybe if you like old movies then yes,purchase it, i'd say this was filmed in the late 70s early 80s. so the film quality is bad. |

This is definitely a collection item for all Leslie's Fans out there... even Rowena, thought i not too sure who she is, but with the feedback all surrounding her, she must be a charming superstar back then.. Anyone knows is there a VCD release for this movie?? |

Lemon Cola? Yum
| I may buy this. Teenage movies back then are full of adventure, innocence and romance. I never seen Rowena Cortes act before. This movie provides a great oppotunity. |
