The Best of Jacky (16/2/1988)
| According to "jacky cheung 15: a wonderful music journey - the first fifteen years" (which was released in the year 2000), this Mandarin compilation (which I consider is one of Jacky's best in his whole singing career) was released on the 16th of February, 1988. The year that his album sales plummeted to new lows after reports of depression due to the overwhelming popularity in which he can't handle and accept at the time. Bad press was partly to blame for his bout of depression. But he'd grown out of it once he'd recieved the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards 1988 for his role as Fly in "As Tears Go By" (Cantonese: Wong Gwok Ka Moon) (released in Hong Kong cinema screens in 1988). He'd slowly grown in popularity and the Hong Kong public was slowly warming up to him......then in 1991 - "Loving You More Each Day" resuscitated his singing career and made him a superstar. He'd not looked back since. He's loved by millions (now a billion) of Chinese people for his lovely baritone voice. He's not replaceable. He's one of the kind. A kind singing gentleman who's also a loving husband and father. God bless him. |

a MUST HAVE album~!
| I have the original 1987 version of this CD, and I treasure this album very much!. Why? It's an 'antique' to me, and most of the songs are the Mandarin version of Jacky's popular Cantonese classics from 1985-1987, such as 'Smile Again', 'Amour', 'Blue Rain', 'Half Moon Bay'. There are all together 15 hits in this wonderful album. The CD is hardly found in any music stores these few years. Thanks Universal for reissuing this album, and dont miss your chance to own it! You'll never regret. |
