　　1972年，塔夫特高校一直是球場上的陪跑份子，從來未曾染指錦標，皆因死敵巴克思菲爾德高校一直是球場上的成巨敶d。他們今屆想破其宿命，可是被稱為「牛油手」的鄧迪(羅賓威廉斯飾)卻在最重要的關頭失手，連校際球星韓杜爾(卻羅素飾)也無計可施，輸波的責任當然全被推到鄧迪身上了。轉眼已是13年後，鄧迪仍未能一雪前恥，於是他決意要重回舊地，再戰死敵！可是，要重回塔夫特高校的校隊已不是一件容易的事。

　　In 1972, hoping for a shot at glory, underdog Taft High challenged their meanest rival, Bakersfield, to the annual football game. But when Jack "Butterfingers" Dundee (ROBIN WILLIAMS) dropped the ball instead of making the big play, Taft was defeated and star quarterback Reno Hightower (KURT RUSSELL) has never let him live it down. Now, 13 years later, Dundee wants the chance to redeem himself, no matter what it takes! His only solution is to play Bakersfield again... with the same team! But for the Taft team, getting into shape would not be tougher!
