Brilliantly conceived and executed action classic
| "The Bourne Identity" surely is one of the greatest action films of the last decade. The crew of a fishing boat finds a body floating out in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. They are shocked to find that what they suspect is a corpse actually still is alive. When he recovers, the mysterious man turns out to have lost his memory. We then follow the man, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), as he seeks to recover his identity and why there are people seeking to kill him. Loaded with jaw-dropping car chases, fights, and gunplay, this is one movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Matt Damon's character, who turns out to by an assassin for the American government, is humanized by the loss of his memory. The romance between Bourne and the woman who seeks to help him also adds an element of human interest. Action films don't get much better than "The Bourne Identity". I recommend it highly. |
