　　本片為大導演張徹的1977年十大賣座武俠電影，製片是蔡瀾，劇情主要描寫當年倪匡為好友金庸在報紙連載的代筆章節，所以亦名為《萍蹤俠影錄》，著墨處為郭靖與黃蓉由結識至婚事節外生枝那一段故事，期間，亦有郭靖與歐陽克的恩怨，以及楊康認賊作父的經過。片中主線人物包括由傅聲飾郭靖，恬妞飾黃蓉，李修賢飾歐陽克，李藝民飾楊康，谷峰飾北丐洪七公，郭追飾老頑童周伯通，惠英紅飾穆念慈。

　　International idol Alexander Fu Sheng stars as a wushu warrior who must learn the "18 Palms," the "Nine Secrets," and be taught by the "Seven Evils," to take vengeance on the man who killed his father -- the Prince of the invading Chin Kingdom. Director Chang Cheh also uses this "Martial Art World" phantasmagorical to test future superstars Kara Hui Ying-hung (soon to be My Young Auntie) and Kuo Chue, who was to become the star of the "Venoms" series.

Apologies: I just don't see it Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I'm missing something; perhaps I just don't get into the classic, fantastical Chinese stories. Some of the sequences seemed redundant & a touch ridiculous even though I believe I have a high tolerance for ridiculous plot. I admit cultural ignorance & would love further explaination/education on this matter. But once again, this story style may not be my cup of tea.

2nd Best of "4" Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie to me is the second best of the 4 part "archer" series.Although none of them can hold a candle to 3, this one has the ever amazing Tien Niu.No disrespect to Fu Sheng and the amazing Shaw cast in this first film, but Tien Niu is without a doubt the best actor represented in this film.Although some of the Venoms are represented in this great epic,it is a shame that Chiang Sheng could not even have a speaking part...but he makes up for that in part 3 and 4.

This is one of Fu Sheng's best classics. His performance as the condor hero is perfect. Tien Niu too demonstrated well as the adorable and witty "Huang Rong". Quite a pity that her role was replaced by Niu Niu in Brave Archer Part II. However, Part I is highly recommended to all Shaw classics fans.

Excellent film - but audio has been modernised Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Brave Archer is the 1st of a series of 4 films (hopefully celestial will release all 4) the shaws made, all starring arguably their finest kung fu line up of fu sheng & the venoms crew. The picture in this film is flawless & such an improvement ovn the old VHS copy Ive had for years. However, I was appaled when I realised that celestial have altered the audio by changing the sound effects when fighting & some of the incidental music in the film. Anyone who loves these films will tell you that the trademark clanging of swords & incidental music is part of what makes a Shaw Brothers film. If anyone from celestial is reading this, or knows anyone who works there - PLEASE, DONT change the audio track to the films we love!!

Excellent Fu Sheng Movie Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Hope they will release all the parts even Fu Sheng is no longer acting in the next part.I remember watching this movie when I was in High School back in 1977.
