Based on a chapter of author Shi Naian's The Water Margin (AKA: Outlaws of the Marsh), the action kicks off when Liu Yuen Ying (Ding Nung) is "bride-napped" by a bandit who's out to make her his wife! The bandit's sympathetic sister returns Ying, but that's only the beginning of the mistaken identities, social satires, and cross-dressing confusion as Ying's disappearance and return wreaks havoc with the locals! A delightful costume comedy that combines screwball antics, musical interludes, and even a little action, The Bride Napping is a fun and entertaining way to catch the legendary Lok Dai at her most beautiful and charming!

Another Look of Betty Lok Ti Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This is an interesting story without too much singing like other classic. We would enjoy more if there were some more singing in this movie.
Betty Lok Ti has been well known as the symbol of classic beauty, most of her movies were sad stories with tears and sadness and she was very good in these characters. However, this in an exception in this movie she did not have a drop of tears and her face was shining with charming smiles through out the movie. She even had some positive solution at time when others were confused and got lost. This proves that Lok Ti was not necessarily limited herself in one type of role as in the "The Red Dream Chamber" , or " Eternal Love", She was also successful in some other active roles as in this one and another one as " The Dancing Millionaire ". We remember Lok Ti as much as we remember Lin Dai even though Lok Ti has not won any title as best actress in Asian film festivals. but, we would consider Lok Ti as very talent artist and same as Lin Dai, they both were bright stars that once shine the sky of art and contribute tremendously to the movie industry in the 50' and 60'.
We are eagerly looking forward to the release of some of her re mastered movies by Celestial picture as " The Red Dream Chamber", " The Eternal Love" and " Enchanting Shadow". It is really great news to fans of Lok Ti to have these movies release soon.

1.0 digitally attacked Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
It was an ordinary production of which the characters were not quite seductive, I was getting bored after a while. In addition to that, Mamamia ! it always happens...The sound engineer doesn't care about audience's sensation, he does keep on giving the center channel a high priority. In fact, the original soundtrack was remixed & displaced to the center, for front & surround channels, birds sang occasionally and v-e-r-y poorly, that's all ! The power amplifier was warming up principally for the center channel. Maybe our sound system deserve : The audience is listening to 1.0 Digital Sound - "Breaking the Digital Sound Barrier".

Finally, one with this Classic Beauty Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Not her best films but it's worth just for Lok Ti, the one and definite only chinese classic beauty actress.

Hopefully, Shaw can release her best Shaw film, the original "Ghost Story" directed by Li Han Hsiang & her "Dream of the Red Chamber".
