The Brilliant Green rocks! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10

More than a decade ago, during a brief trip to Tokyo, I caught a video by The Brilliant Green on TV and promised myself that I would buy one of their albums. Well, it took me a long time to honor that promise, but I'm glad I finally did. The "Complete Single Collection" is a terrific document of this superb band's career. For those unfamiliar with their work, The Brilliant Green's sound might best be described as a restrained roar. The band is a very tight unit, largely eschewing fancy fretwork and pointless solos. They never sound pretentious or indulgent, but blast away in service to their nicely-crafted songs. Over the course of the album, we can hear their songwriting mature and increasingly feature big, catchy pop hooks. Also, as the album progresses, we hear singer Kawase Tomoko's vocals grow in confidence and become more prominently featured in the band's sound. Indeed, Tommy's singing is the perfect complement to that tight sound; she is never flashy, never overreaching, always in the pocket. I can recommend this generous collection without hesitation to all rock music fans. I hope we haven't heard the last from this brilliant group.

I hope it's not the end Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10

I wanted a best of album from them so bad ! One of the best pop/rock band ever is finally releasing their complete singles collection ! After the announcement of their second comeback single ''ENEMY'', I really hoped they were going to reunite definitively, sadly it's not like that but we are lucky to get three new songs instead of one, all excellent especially ''Ash Like Snow''. I'm excited for this collection but I only hope this is not their last album ever.
