Another Lok Dai(Betty) Classic Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I consider this among the top 3 of such genre, together with Love Eterne(LOk Dai) and Kingdom & the Beauty(Lin Dai).

Lok Dai was perfectly casted as Lin-Dai yu. If there is any major flaw in this movie, it's the male lead.
Just imagine if the 70's remake male lead played by Brigitte Lin opposite Lok Dai, it wiull be the perfect Dream of the Red Mansion.

Paying A Tribute To Betty Loh Ti Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It's ashamed that Ivy Ling Po wasn't the male lead role despite she was the singer behind the scenes.Betty Loh Ti's performance and beauty was definitely acclaimed by my friends here. I find the whole production is quite entertaining with lovely Huangmei music and lyrics(esp those sung by Ivy), colourful scenes and costumes. I do agree with other reviewers that the male lead was a bad choice. Nonetheless, it was a popular Huangmei classic when shown in cinema.

Betty Loh Ti - one of her best movies during SB Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I have bought 2 DVDs for "The Dream of The Red Chamber" which stars Betty Loh Ti and the latter which stars Lin Chin Hsia.
Personally, I still preferred the 1960's classic, which stars Betty Loh Ti. She is one of the most talented and beautiful actresses in the 1960s and nobody can act Lin Dai Yi so well as her (Chang Ai Chia who acted Lin Dai Yi which was directed by Li Han Hsiang, and aslo Taiwanese newcomer, Choh Zi Ming who acted as Lin Dai Yi, directed by Ling Po's hubby Chin Han, totally cannot compared with Betty).
I agreed with the other reviewers that the director make Ren Chieh as the leading actor, which really is a failure. Mao Wei (Famous dubbing teacher, which is now residing in Singapore said in a radio interview that actually he supposed to be the leading actor).
Another suberb performanace is Du Chien. It is very pitiful and sad to hear that these 2 beauties, Loh Ti and Du Chien committed sucide during their golden age.

The most beautiful newly released Betty Loh Tih’s Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie is not perfect, but Betty Loh Tih’s performance was perfect. Besides, she was stunning beautiful in this movie. It is worth to buy this DVD just to see this remembered classic beauty, as well as for the extra introduction to Betty Loh Tih.

Dream of the red chamber should be enjoyed for as it is. Terence Lee is very harsh on the actress who impersonates the male lead role. I am not a fan of this actress. But if she was a good actress or even a singer, Ivy Ling Po may not have a chance to be in The Love Eterne. So be kind to this actress. Also, Shaw Brothers saw how they can make it better when it comes to The Love Eterne.
