YesAsia Editorial Description
The third in the Swordsman series, The East Is Red brings back the legendary villain from Swordsman II, Asia the Invincible (Brigitte Lin)! Presumed dead to the World of Martial Arts, Asia the Invincible makes a stunning return when numerous factions make a play for the mystical scroll that grants her unlimited power. Officer Koo (Yu Wing Kwong) informs Asia that in her absence, others have taken on her name and are using it to achieve their own ends. Among the pretenders is Snow (Joey Wang), a former lover of Asia's. Koo persuades Asia to return to rightfully claim her name, but Asia's return to power spins wildly out of control. Her rage consumes her, and soon the World of Martial Arts will be bathed in the blood of her foes...
Director Ching Siu Tung creates wildly imaginative and over-the-top action sequences sure to please fans of the previous Swordsman films. Fantastic wirework and the grand theatrics of Brigitte Lin make The East is Red an entertaining, colorful spectacle that dazzles with its sheer energy and cinematic panache. The East is Red is a creative motion picture that perfectly exemplifies the delirious joys of this unique Hong Kong Cinema genre!

Beautiful People
The final installment for the Swordsman trilogy with Brigette Lin being really the only constant. Once again it's the beautiful posturing type fighting with wires, flowing costumes & explosions (plenty of explosions). The story makes an effort to give the characters depth but to no avail; just a neat flick to watch for Brigette, Yu Rong Guong & Joey Wang. Oh, and to give your collection some closure if you have the first two movies.

Love this movie!
A continuation of the Asia Invincible character from Swordsman II, once again with the stunning Brigitte Lin! The original characters are removed and in comes a respectable officer named Koo who lives with honour, and the gorgeous, scene-stealing Joey Wang who plays Snow - an ex-lover of Asia Invincible (probably before he morphed into a woman from the Sacred Scroll). With a little bit of sex (lesbian love-scenes), drugs (opium) and.... well, martial arts...Snow gets most of our attention throughout the movie. Although her whole-hearted devotion to Asia Invincible is trully admirable, it is sometimes heart-wrenching and pitiful. Quite fast-past with not a very deep storyline, but some interesting sea-battles, great costumes once again and excellent soundtrack! Would love to have seen more of Snow with her Asia Invincible....just to understand their relationship a little better.

okay
this movie continues the story of the Invincible Master Asia... but i was disappointed because I did not like the fight scenes as much. i was sort of confused of how the plot was set up too. however, it is a very good story in connection to the other swordsman parts. i like the Swordsman 2 with Jet Li better.
