During the third Century B.C., an ambitious king. Ying Zheng, was obsessed wiith unifing akk of China and become the first emperor. Hoping to contribute in some way to Ying Zheng's dream of Chinese unification. Concubine Zhao, devised an intricate fake assassination plot against Ying Zheng which, when "uncovered", would provide him with a legitimate excuse to invade the neighbouring kingdom of Yan, his greatest obstacles to unification. However, before the plan could be fulfilled, Ying Zheng discoverd a paimful secret about his birth....

Dry for "action" but Operatic
| Another movie that should not be categorized as an action simply because it is more a drama that unfolds in an era of war. This can also be considered a non-action version of Hero that Jet Li starred in. Gong Li is ever mezmerizing & there are some note worthy performances that sends chills up your spine particularly the tragedy that is: the assasin. |
