Great album!

BoA is one of the best singers in the world! When I first listened to this album, I was impressed! The songs aren't that special but they seemed to have 'connections' with me, I don't know how to explain but it was a great feeling! But to be honest, here, BoA couln't really show her whole talent, her great vocal skills like she did in her previous albums like 'LOVE & HONESTY'. I would wish for more powerful songs on this album. There are so many videos on the 2 DVDs. I really enjoyed it watching them. Unfortunately the Japanese CD+2DVDs version was only available for a short time but I made it to buy this edition right on time. All in all, THE FACE is a great album and you should buy it if you're a real BoA fan! |

BoA's new album definitely makes the "hot list" when it comes to 2008 albums. Her extremely impressive large vocal range is accompanied with her smooth tone and gorgeous backing music. The tracks in this album all show different styles and how BoA's voice can shine even in difficult situations. I was extremely impressed with "Beautiful Flowers" most of all because of the frequent changing octaves - highs and lows are crazy in this track. I'm least impressed with "Girl In The Mirror" and "Gap ni Yarareta!" however, so this album isn't completely "perfect" like her "Best Of Soul" and "Love And Honesty" albums. I do see it as an improvement from "Outgrow" and "Made In Twenty". BoA is going in a new musical direction and it's very interesting to see her development. The DVDs are good, but the PVs didn't really grab my attention until "be with you." came on. That was the best. Its originality and beauty make you love the song even more. Not to mention, the photobook was refreshing and original too. The beauty of it is just so natural. Anyway, the bonus footage on the 1'st DVD is pleasing and makes this CD+2DVDs worth the money in full. The 2'nd DVD is OK, but I would've perferred a full release of "BoA The Live X'mas" included. To release them seperately isn't really fair. Just Avex's way to rake in more money. Oh, and an advertisement for BoA's "FACE Tour 2008" came with my CD+2DVD set. It made me only wish I could go. What a tease. |

A day before I recieved this in the mail, I watched "The History Of BoA" 2DVDs!! Then, on the day I got this CD+2DVDs, I sat down immediately to watch! The PVs are nice, but I like "LOVE LETTER" and "be with you." most of all. The best part about it was the special footage ONLY on the CD+2DVD version!!!! It was a bunch of PV making of footage and behind-the-scenes in the recording studio as well as a "be with you." special piano version performance!! It's so fun to see BoA's silly personality and you know...she's always had that personality. Her music style has changed, her image is more mature, but she's still the same BoA as she's always been. I'm glad I bought this edition because it's VERY special and I needed to see that she hasn't changed personally. (n.n) Also! She explains a bit about every individual song from "THE FACE". There's no subtitles so the interview probably won't mean much to non-Japanese speakers. (X.x) The 2'nd DVD is also enjoyable and gives you a taste of the "MiT" tour and "BoA The LIVE Christmas" so you can decide if you want to buy or not!! I already have the "MiT" tour 2DVDs...so that was kind of..umm...not needed for me. The other performances were very nice though!! <3 I especially love her performance with m-flo. The jacket artwork is cute, funny, beautiful, and sweet - all of the things that BoA is! I also like the neat little slipcase! <3 I LOOOVE this album much more than "MiT" because of the many different styles. Oooooo! My favorite NEW tracks are..."AGGRESSIVE", "My Way, Your Way feat. WISE", "Happy Birthday" (it's grown on me ALOT), "BRAVE", "Style", and "Hey Boy, Hey Girl feat. SEAMO"!! My favorite SINGLE tracks are "Sweet Impact", "Diamond Heart", "Smile again", and "Beautiful Flowers"! I think all the tracks are GREAT except "Gap ni Yarareta!"...that's the only not-so-good one. =/ to me, at least. WONDERFUL WORK, BOA!! <3 I hope this album is more successful than last year's. |

Music CD - OK, the album CD itself is positively excellent with the small exception of the limited edition bonus track "Hey Boy Hey Girl". It's a decently good song, but SEAMO's rapping can get to be too much, and give me a headache. Despite there's also some rapping sorta thing from WISE. I know it's not exactly that, but I'm not sure what to call it in the song "My Way, Your Way" it's actually fitting for the song. Honestly, some of my favorite songs on here are "be with you", "Happy Birthday", "Diamond Heart" and "LOVE LETTER". First DVD - Well, this DVD isn't bad, but the Sweet Impact PV is slightly redundant, but still nice to watch. And then the LOVE LETTER PV can be a little boring. It needed more to it if you ask me. The other 2 PV's are really good. Then the BoA TV and The Face thing. They're both very interesting and I enjoy them very much, but I think people who speak Japanese fluently or at least have a good understanding of it will enjoy these the most. I am not fluent, but have learned alot so there's not much I can't understand. Second DVD - Now here's the part of this album which dissapointed me. At first I heard that the "BoA X'mas Live" was going to be on here which is what made me preorder this version elsewhere right away over a month ago. And well, I'm dissapointed how it changed. The DVD has 8 performances from X'mas Live, 4 from Made In Twenty Tour, 1 from "M-flo Tour Cosmicolor" and 3 from Rhythm Nation 2007. Now, these can be good and they can't be. And I don't mean the performances. I already have the Made In Twenty Tour double DVD set, so that's 4 useless performances to me on this DVD. And then I already preordered the Rhythm Nation 2007 DVD and for alot more than the BoA performances, so that's 3 more performances which I don't need in the long run. It will give me a preview of the entire thing til my preorder DVD arrives though. And then the BoA Live X'mas is absolutely excellent... Well, whats here anyways, so you might as well order the full concert separately. In my personal opinion, I think she should've put the entire X'mas Live on here and maybe the M-Flo Tour Cosmicolor performance of The Love Bug on here as a bonus. Still, all the performances on this DVD are really excellent, and until I get my Rhythm Nation 2007 and X'mas Live DVDs these will keep me busy with a preview of them which is really enjoyable. Cover And Designs(Pictures) - Well, the cover is quite different from anything in the past but I really like it, and the pictures inside are really nice. I love them all. The soft blue reminds me of what the sky looks like during the summer. So on the whole, this is a really good album, but if you have or are going to order any of the stuff on the second DVD it's probably best to get the CD+1DVD version. |

| This BoA's best Japanese work. Here she is giving us a look into who she really is. This album shows how much she has grown over these last years. It's definatly better than her made in 20 album. The title is very fitting since all the songs are so personal. At first people were afraid of the title, but now they realize it is very fitting. I look forward to BoA's future success with this and many more albums. Congrats BoA on a top quality album. |

I saw it. And I clicked preorder. Awww~BoA sama just gets prettier every time! And the new single [Be With You] is a great hit too! I heard the preview...It was beautiful >0< The other songs included in this album~ such as Love Letter, Diamond Heart etc. They're all my favorite songs ^o^ Plus, there wasn't even one album or SONG of BoA that didn't please me. It's gonna be a great HIT >0< Go BoA sama! |
