Helmed by renowned director Li Guoli, new period drama The Fairies of Liaozhai is the latest to draw from the rich source material provided by Liaozhai Zhiyi, a classic compilation of supernatural tales written in the Qing Dynasty by Pu Songling. This collection has already inspired many films and dramas including the classic Chinese Ghost Story and the more recent TV drama Strange Tales of Liaozhai. The Fairies of Liaozhai revolves around the fantastical encounters of four very special young women, painting a grand tale of love and fate with their interweaving stories. The series stars popular actors Nicky Wu and Fann Wong, along with Daniel Chan, Sun Hing, Sun Li, Lin Jiayu, and Tae.
