Cronenberg's THE FLY Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Excellent and dark film is a 're-imagining' of the Vincent Price original. With modernized special effects and a thoughtful script it was a box-office success. An unrated version supposedly exists that features a scene in which Seth Brundle leaps off a building and lands in front of an old lady and he proceeds to melt her with his fly enzymes and eat her. This scene was deemed too 'intense' and would have given the film an 'X' rating. It was eventually cut from the final print of the film. A special Japanese edition exists of the film on DVD, but I have yet to see it.
