　　法國新浪潮導演杜魯福，可算是有史以來最能夠拍攝雅俗共賞電影的導演之一。杜魯福畢生與電影有緣，他喜歡以抒情輕快的剪接、揮洒自如的場面調度，從創新的電影語言中，拍攝出清新可喜、不落俗套的作品。

　　杜魯福於影評時代已經對希治閣的驚慄電影情有獨鍾，因此當《四百擊》取得空前成功後，便立即投入拍攝希治閣式驚慄電影《射殺鋼琴師》，影片同樣令人傾倒。此後，他不斷遊走於不同類型之間，但對驚慄片卻不離不棄。

　　在晚年時期，他一口氣拍攝了《最後一班地車》、《隔牆花》及《情殺案中案》等片，杜魯福將愛情元素注入驚慄電影之中，為他創造另一個創作高峰，而《最後一班地車》更獲得了法國凱撒電影獎共十項大獎，成為杜魯福晚年的一次最後勝利！

　　Francois Truffaut, one of the most widely acclaimed directors in the history of cinema, is also the most famous of the French New Wave directors.

　　Truffaut has always been the No.1 fan of Alfred Hitchcock. That's why he made the thriller "Shoot the Pianist" to pay tribute to Hitchcock right after his first film "The 400 Blows" became a success. He has made a lot of films in different genres since, but he never gave up making thrillers even before his death.

　　During his later years, he had made "The Last Metro", "The Woman Next Door" and "Confidentially Yours", all of which are thrillers with a bit of romance thrown in. This has become another high point in his life for he received ten awards at the Cesar Awards in France for "The Last Metro", which also marked the end of his prolific career.
