7 tracks for 50 minutes

This mini album is a real piece of art and really worth to buy. It features 3 masterpieces of the beginnings of Misia : MELODY, INTO THE LIGHT, and KEY OF LOVE. You will also have two remix for the two last mentioned songs. I warmly advise the INTO THE LIGHT ~Gomi's Beauty and Beast Remix~ which is really funny and pleasant :) The box also contains 5 old postcards to wish a Merry '98 Christmas : welcome to the past ! If you liked MOTHER BROTHER FATHER SISTER and LOVE IS THE MESSAGE, definitely, you won't be disappointed by this mini album. |

Could be a lot better
|
I got this mini-album because I loved Misias voice, and I thought the name "The glory day" was a pretty name. But I must say, this album is very, very bad! "The glory day" is a religious song with a nice melody, but it´s amongst the most boring song I have ever heard. The other songs on this CD are disco-technoish-pop songs, and I didn´t even bother to listen through the first minutes. I think "The Glory Day" could be much better if it would be much shorter, and the first part of the song wouldn´t be people saying "The glory day" until you grow sick of the song. The remixes are even worse than the original songs, so I didn´t like this album at all. Misias voice is amazing, but singing the worlds most boring songs, dosen´t make the songs any better. |

Misia has always been a vocal powerhouse

This one also came in a neat little packaging. The Cd package is actually sort of a box, where the bax is four flaps which fold into each other. When opened, it reveals the CD, sitting a top a picture of Misia in front of some stained glass windows. Inside, there's also 5 postcards which say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Misia. I liked that touch. As for the music, Misia sounds a little deeper in the first track of this album than I'm used to. However, the style is definately classic Misia. If you've heard her Marvelous album, this one is pretty similar. Personally, it's one of my favorite styles of hers, just a nice all-out soulful sound with the right amount of cheer. One thing to note- the track listing may be short for this album, more along the lines of a mini-album, but they are all very long songs (on average, the tracks are 7:12 long, going from 5:59 to 10:32 O_O). I really like the concept of the album, too, especially since they made the song The Glory Day itself an appropriately, well, glorious song. Haha. No, really, it's a nice mix of joy and soul, especially with the background choir and whatnot. And the lyrics are just cheesy enough to be very endearing as opposed to corny. Although, I think this makes 2 Christmas CDs I've bought in August this year :P. Into The Light is an EXCELLENT song, as well, and the remix is a riot. This really is an excellent, up-beat CD, which will prolly become one of my favorites by Misia. |

The Glory Day
| I bought this little album with little knowledge of MISIA's singing ability, and was pleasantly surprised at the depth and soulful voice this Japanese singer is able to put out. Ironically, "The Glory Day" is my least favourite song despite being the tile of the CD. "Into the Light" has a great dance-like beat, and "MELODY" was the first song I'd heard by MISIA that made me become an instant fan. Overall, not a bad little item. ^_^ |
