China punk rock band AOK has seen their popularity skyrocket after being selected as the warm-up act for the Shanghai leg of Avril Lavigne's China tour. Now they're releasing their debut album The Great Escapade after signing with Song BMG. Deriving their name from the 1961 NASA lingo describing a perfectly manned space mission, the band was formed in 2003 with the five members hailing from Beijing. Their unique perspective on love, life, friendship and coming-of-age, delivered through singer Zhong Xu's deep, grainy voice, can be heard in this pop-rock collection of their best 10 songs thus far. Main cuts include the inspirational first plug Go Go Go, the fantastical title track The Great Escapade, the romantic "Only One", the social commentary "Haunted House", and the catchy tune "I Want Mine".
