　　前進發（周潤發）高佬偉（曾志偉）傻雞（成奎安）三名大陸青年來港做〝省港旗兵〞，誤撞之下認識富商施頭（王青），而施頭為報復被美女Lychee（利智）所戲弄，將前進發交給模特兒導師Anita（梅艷芳）訓練，令發成為社交人才，更在督爺出現的一個晚會表現出色，令各界人仕大加讚賞，而發更加出計，使曾令施頭出醜的社會雙鳳Lychee，上官飛鳳（王小鳳）在一個結婚場面不能落台，後來發更認識香港船王之女Fiona（李美鳳），而施頭更要發出計使fiona出醜，發認為Fiona不在協議之下的女性，而不答應施頭，施頭使計……

　　Locomotive Fat (Chow Yun Fat), Skyscraper Eric (Eric Tsang) and Chicken Noodles (Sing Fai On) are three country bumpkins who come to Hong Kong illegally to rob a bank. But they are so awkward in doing things that they find themselves in a high society gathering. There they meet Headman See (Wong Ching). Headman See is wooing Lychee (Lina Lychee) only to be made a fool. Lychee also considers Locomotive Fat a low creature. With vengeance in heart, See sets out to groom Loco Fat into a beautiful people. The job falls on Anita (Anita Mui) who is more than successful. Loco Fat becomes an instant celebrity. At a chic bash, he makes fun of Lychee and another spoiled beauty Wong Siu Fung……
