Emme Wong has been enjoying the sweetness of success ever since she debuted in 2001, winning several newcomer awards. Emme did her best to prove that this was no coincidence, continuing to impress fans with attractive jazz and freestyle dance moves and songs like "Quitting Boys" and "Looking Good". After mainly focusing on her acting career in recent years, Emme's long hiatus from the music scene finally comes to an end with The Groove In Me. On her new full-length album she collaborates with European rapper Jamaster A X to explore new music frontiers. Her 12-track CD features such promising new songs as the Mando-pop number" Never Left" (Track 10) penned by Andy Lau and the ballad "My Heart Is Somewhere Else" (Track 9) with lyrics by Hacken Lee. Emme also underlines her presence with the self-penned "Myself" (Track 8).

This edition comes with a four-track music video DVD.

Everytime I watch Emme dance so seductivelly on stage, It makes me so thirsty and hungry.

Fantastic Dance Grooves + cool ballads Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Emme Wong’s “The Groove in Me” is one seriously infectious dance electronica album (well by this CD's first part, anyway), having great rhythms, riffs, melodic's and cool grooves packed to the rafters. But although predominant in the electronica dance music style (track 4 is amazing with a metallic, fast, electronic industrial dance groove), this CD’s latter half also features additional good ballads care of tracks 7, 8 and 9 to enjoy equally. Especially track 9 "My Heart is Somewhere Else" with its heartfelt refrain and Emme's own lyric ballad for the song "Myself" (track 8). Emme is more of a musical collaborator here though, and certainly ‘shares’ a number of the songs with LoJ and RAY. But Emme's high (and at times ethereal) voice adorns a wealth of musical song types here. A fantastic album to try out. Every track moves into another musical form until the album ends all quite differently to how it all begins. So dont' read 'rap' and 'dance' and think this is all the CD offers. No, it’s a full on eclectic mix - swift and rhythmic house beats, great Canto song rhythms, infectious dance rhythms, occasional hip hop rap and having some really pulsating electronic synth sounds, but also additional gentle ballads here to calm things down a bit at the end. All the songs here are pretty good!

I would certainly place track 4 (plus extended mix) as a firm favorite of mine for the more vibrant electronic songs and track 9 as the most touching ballad. Loved track 3, too, (plus the extended mix version ) and 7, 9 and 1. But, really, I like this album as a whole. Overall, a very energetic and well-produced rhythmic CD with additional ballads and an album I would certainly recommend checking out. Recommended certainly if you like Yumiko’s or Uhm Jung Hwa CDs and other rhythmic dance albums. Go on, hit that beat with this cool CD!
