Solid entertainment Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"The Inspector Wears Skirts" succeeds in spite of itself. Its story is crudely conceived; its script is cliched; its performances never rise above the rudimentary; and its production values are drearily cheap. Compounding those problems is the grainy, unremastered print that Joy Sales has released. And yet ... "The Inspector Wears Skirts" still manages to be irresistibly likeable.

The Hong Kong police force is assembling an elite group of female police officers to work in coordination with their elite male Tiger Squad. Sibelle Hu is placed in charge of the female crew and tasked with molding the rather raw recruits into a tightly-knit, effective undercover fighting force. After some intial problems in their training, she brings in Cynthia Rothrock to help whip the recruits into fighting trim. When the ladies aren't squabbling amidst their training, they are fending off (or encouraging) the advances of the testosterone-driven Tiger Squad. But all the rivalry and tomfoolery is put behind them when both squads are put to the test to prevent a jewelry heist.

It is a treat to see all the familiar faces in the film. In addition to Rothrock and Hu, the cast includes Kara Hui, Ellen Chan, Ann Bridgewater, the inevitable Bill Tung as the police commissioner, Alex To, Stanley Fung, Sandra Ng, and in minor roles Ricky Hui and Shing Fui On. Rothrock, Kara Hui, and some of the male cast members put on some impressive displays of martial arts and Jackie Chan's stunt crew performs eye-popping feats. It all adds up to good cheesy, action-packed fun.

One for the Girls Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Although I've only just 'discovered' this movie, I just love it to bits. I enjoy the many cliche jokes without which the movie just wouldn't have survived.

Many familiar faces here with Sibelle appointed as the first training officer (very strict but fair) for a female commando/SAS team (of sorts). Kara Hui & Sandra Ng just 2 of the girls on her team. The 'Flying Tigers' squad (boy's team) is commanded by Stanley Fung.

Thoughout their training period, the girls learnt the hard way that only through mutual respect and support can they work as a team. On the other hand, the boys' team have their eyes full on the girls and trying to pair up as much as they can. It is an open-secret to the boys that their commanding officer Stanley (playing Mr Kan) has fallen in love with Sibelle but just can't get his nerves together to express his feelings. However, when both teams were required to go undercover to prevent a jewellery hiest by a group of terrorists, everyone put their skills together and the result was much better than expected (with a twist).

An oldie but a goodie. Dont forget to watch Part 2.
