Jumong lead Song Il Kook stars in an epic historical drama again in 2008, this time playing Jumong's grandson! Based on a comic by Kim Jin, KBS drama The Kingdom of The Winds (a.k.a. The Land of Wind) centers around the exploits of Prince Moo Hyul, who was born under a curse that destines him to destroy his family and kingdom. Choi Jung Won (All In) co-stars as the Buyeo princess whom Moo Hyul falls in love with, and Park Gun Hyung (When Spring Comes) portrays Moo Hyul's friend and rival Do Jin. Acclaimed film actor Jung Jin Young, best known for playing the king in King and The Clown, makes a rare television appearance as Moo Hyul's father, King Yuri, who abandoned his son when he was a child.
The Kingdom of the Winds (a.k.a. The Land Of Wind) is helmed by Emperor of the Sea director Kang Il Soo and penned by the unbeatable screenwriting trio of Choi Wan Kyu (Jumong), Jung Jin Ok (Emperor of the Sea), and Park Jin Woo (Seoul's Sad Song). Filmed in Korea and China, this sweeping 36-episode period drama features a star-studded supporting cast that includes Kim Hye Sung (Unhindered High Kick), Kim Jung Hwa (Snow White), Kim Jae Wook (Coffee Prince), Oh Yoon Ah (Surgeon Bong Dal Hee), and Lee Jong Won (General Hospital 2).

琉璃王的兒子無恤(宋一國 飾)出生時，神卻為這個孩子安排了一個殘酷的命運，並告訴琉璃王：「這孩子將會殺死母親、兄長、父親，也會傷害高句麗」，果然，無恤的母親生下他沒多久後就死了。而當時琉璃王也正處於鞏固高句麗強而有力王權的當口，於是舉辦了親手殺死親生兒子的儀式，要來平息民怨和勢力龐大的沸流部的反抗。但身為人父的琉璃王實在不忍心親手殺死自己的兒子，於是命令太子解明把無恤扔掉，琉璃王給這世人認為已死的孩子取名為無恤，意為沒有沸騰的熱血、沒有跳動的心臟；解明也不忍心扔掉他，於是拜託繪製先王朱蒙帝室的壁畫工匠將無恤撫養長大。

No matter what Song Il Kook is in, he does a great job in acting! This is also called, Kingdom of the Wind, it came out in region 3 which I have & I also had just finished seeing on KBS tv. This 36 episode epic drama was just right in it's length since so many go on and on until you get tired. For anyone who had watched Jumong 1st, it could get confusing since Song Il Kook plays grandson to the role he played in Jumong as Yuri, so one needs to watch the special on it first. In Hawaii, this epic drama was watched by many & couldn't wait to see future episodes. He is well loved as an actor in many countries & especially well received in Hawaii (he came to greet 1400 fans in March 09. I would recommend this to men, women & teens, it is worth watching. The OST is very nice...loved Wheesungs main theme song.... |
