　　本片由「小雲雀」顧媚擔綱主演，更有一群當紅歌星客串演出。這是一個有關歌星與記者的愛情奇緣喜劇，顧媚飾著名歌星小雲雀，自曼谷來香港演唱，巧遇陳厚飾的冒失記者劉仕泰；仕泰為刺探桃色事件內情，假扮南洋界娛樂鉅子親近小雲雀，期間笑料百出之餘，亦交往出真感情來。片中出現多首經典歌曲，包括顧媚主唱的《空虛的夢》、方逸華主唱的《花月佳期》及潘秀瓊主唱的《情人的眼淚》等。

　　1960s pop star Carrie Ku Mei plays pop star "Little Lark" -- not only Carrie's most famous role, but a treasure trove of some of the most popular Mandarin songs of all time. The story, a frothy romance of mistaken identities, ultimately takes a back seat to the wonderful musical numbers, highlighted by "The Wedding Song" (performed by Mona Fong, future production head of Shaw Brothers) and "A Lover's Tears", perhaps the most romantic Mandarin song of its era.

It has to be the theme song Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I watched this movie when I was a little girl (and numerous times!!) and am so glad it's on disc now. The songs are great and all those beautiful cheongsams, they fit so well. And of course, there was Lydia Sum when she was as chubby. Also, keep a watch out for the oh-so-young Joseph Ku when he was probably just starting out.

A Wonderful Musical Comedy Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I really enjoyed this one; in fact, it's my favorite musical comedy so far. I thought it had a wonderfully sustained sense of humor, and was overall much more balanced than some of the other contemporary musicals, although they've been good, too. The "let's put on a show" production number that gets tacked onto the end always seems a bit forced...I'd rather see these things integrated into the plot instead...but it was well done. I've enjoyed all of Peter Chen Hou's movies, and thought he was especially good in this one. His great comedic style was really in top form here. I can't say I was greatly impressed with Koo Mei's singing, I thought she was fairly weak vocally; but her acting was good, and she's "plenty easy on the eyes." Chiang Kwong Chao and Kao Pao Shu were absolutely delightful as a henpecked husband and his domineering wife. In short, I found this film to be great fun and highly entertaining. If you don't have any contemporary musicals in your collection, and you're thinking of adding one or two, this is a great place to start.
